WWE House Show Results Liverpool, England 4/22

rawlogo.jpgA host of WWE grapplers entertained a 10,000 strong crowd at Liverpool’s Echo Arena last night as the Wrestlemania Revenge tour continued to storm the UK.

RAW superstars such as John Cena, Kane and Edge were in action, but it was Blackpool born William Regal who got the biggest cheer of the night.

The former commissioner made quick work of Dolph Ziggler during the shows opening match, despite receiving a nasty cut early on after a clash of heads.

Regal, who was cheered relentlessly despite playing face, finished the contest with a trademark boot to the face.

The 40-year-old then played up to the partisan crowd before posing for pictures with his niece in the ring.

Laugh of the night was provided by intergenda tag-team Glamarella who beat Kelly and Women’s champ Melina.

Glamarella (Beth Phoenix and Santina Marella) played up to the crowd with comical arguments, before Phoenix executed the Grand Slam on Melina, before Santina tagged himself in for the pinfall.

Best match was provided by the scary looking Kane who managed to secure victory against Kofi Kingston.

There were shouts of “two” from the crowd as the referee continued to rack up a host of near falls.

Kane seemed to have the match sealed on numerous occassions, but his signature chokeslam move was reversed countless times.

Eventually the big red machine was able to defeat Kofi after the Jamaican missed his Trouble in Paradise finisher, before finally being chokeslammed to the canvas.

John Cena and Rey Mysterio teamed up for the main event of the evening as they took on Big Show and Edge.

Cena and Rey were cheered by the fans throughout this match, which involved a string of comedy moments.

Show and Edge continued to tag each other in at the beginning of the match by trading meaty chops to the chest.

The battle was lengthy, with Big Show dominating proceedings, but Cena turned things around when Edge accidently speared his tag-team partner.

Rey was soon tagged in to hit Edge with a 619 and trademark splash, before Cena managed to lift the 500 pound Show onto his shoulders to finish him off with the Attitude Adjuster.

Fans left the arena happy, after a string of entertaining matches - looking forward to the next time the WWE visit Liverpool’s Echo Arena.
