WWE 2009 PPV Events, Updated ‘Championship Scramble’ Rules
WWE has confirmed the following 2009 PPV dates:
-Jan. 25 - Royal Rumble
-Feb. 15 - No Way Out
-April 5 - Wrestlemania 25
-April 26 - Backlash
-May 17 - Judgment Day
-June 7 - One Night Stand
-June 28 - Night of Champions
-July 26 - Great American Bash
-August 23 - Summerslam
-Sept. 13 - Unforgiven
-WWE has posted new rules for the Championship Scramble matches for Unforgiven.
The old rules stated:
-The match has a 20-minute time limit. The champion and a randomly selected challenger will start the match, with a new challenger entering the match every five minutes.
-If a Superstar scores a pinfall or submission on any other Superstar in the match, he is declared the “temporary” champion for match purposes (and is not officially recognized as champion in the title history). He holds that designation until another Superstar scores a subsequent pinfall or submission on any other Superstar.
The NEW Rules states:
-The match has a 20-minute time limit. Two randomly selected challengers will start the match, with a new challenger entering the match every five minutes.
-If a Superstar scores a pinfall or submission on any other Superstar in the match, he is declared the “temporary” or interim champion for match purposes. He holds that designation until another Superstar scores a subsequent pinfall or submission on any other Superstar.
-Whoever is the interim champion at the final bell becomes the officially recognized champion.
