The womens wrestling world has taken a sudden blow. Lillian Ellison, known to the wrestling gendre as The Fabulous Moolah passed away yesterday in her Columbia, S.C. home. She was 84.
Moolah was marked by the WWE as the only athlete to hold a record for the longest title reign in any professional sport. The Fabulous Moolah held the title for 10 years. She has defended the title through out the world until one day she lost it to Betty Boucher. But weeks later she got it back.
On June 24, 1995, she was inducted into the WWF Hall of Fame, becoming the first female wrestler to enter the Hall of Fame.
Moolah befriends lady friend and fellow wrestler, Mae Young back in 1949 where Young helped trained her in wrestling.
