The guy’s been main eventing for seemingly three years straight (short the time he missed with his torn pectoral muscle), he’s got promo time on RAW every week, and he’s had legendary feuds with Triple H and Edge that have multiple standout moments.

-1985 marked the return of pro wrestling to network television for the first time in decades. Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper replaced Gorgeous George, Buddy Rogers, and previous wrestling stars on network television. Saturday Night’s Main Event was the pinnacle of an explosion in popular culture of pro wrestling.
To keep in perspective how popular pro wrestling was in 1985, legendary broadcasting executive Dick Ebersol pre-empted Saturday Night Live with WWF wrestling. The show was so successful that it began airing more regularly in 1987. The show was a ratings hit, peaking with an astounding 11.6 rating in February 1987.
