Stu Hart…A Legend for All to Remember
Stu Hart had many achievments to add to him before he started his Wrestling Dynasty. He played football, to having his dream at Olympic gold for amateur wrestling, but world War II but a hold on that.
In 1948 Stu built up from scratch, Stampede Wrestling, a wrestling circuit that helped out second generation wrestlers. Few years later Stu bought a piece of property in Calgary, Canada. Where Stu Hart built up his wrestling dynasty , even beyond today’s standards of wrestling.
The patriarch of the Hart Family is wrestling legend Stu Hart, amateur and professional wrestler, promoter, and trainer.
The Dungeon is what he called it, where the weak and faint hearted do not tread. Stu trained some of the most legendary men of passed and present today. Wrestling legends “Superstar” Billy Graham, The Junkyard Dog, Greg Valentine, Edge, Mark Henry, Lance Storm and even Chris Jericho to name only a few that has had the honor to embark on the Dungeon quest.
Stu Marreid to Helen Hart for 53 years and had 12 children, which together they raised in the Hart house. Each and every child has been involved with wrestling. The boys are Smith, Bruce, Keith, Wayne, Dean, Ross, Bret and Owen. The girls are Ellie, Georgia, Alison, Diana and Martha.
October 3, 2003 Stu Hart was hospitalized due to a fall with injuries resulting.
October 16, Stu Hart passes away from complications of diabetes and pneumonia.
In honor of Stu Hart, in 2005 the City of Saskatoon with parts of it under construction in the Blairmore Suburban Centre will name Hart Road in rememberance of Stu Hart.
