Raw Results - 5/7/07

Raw, live from Penn State University.
The new ECW Champ, Vince McMahon, comes out and remarks upon last week’s destruction, saying that one superstar had destroyed 4 WWE superstars in one night - and that it had never been done before.
HBK gets his two cents in and says that he was supposed to be the #1 Contender last week for the title, but that Khali had robbed him of the chance. He demands a match tonight. Vince makes the match - HBK vs. The Great Khali in a no holds barred match.
Lashley enters the arena and confronts Vince, saying that he wants the belt. Vince responds that if Lashley touches him, Shane or Umaga, Lashley will never get a title shot. Instead, Vince will be taking on Lashley in a match at Judgement Day with his tag-team partners, Shane and Umaga. Lashley decides to take his annoyance out on an innocent bystander, and Jonathan Coachmen gets pounded on while Vince watches.
Match #1: Candice Michelle & Mickie James VS Victoria & Melina
Our T&A Matinee comes to us early tonight. Nothing great, just a bitch-slap fest between Mickie James and Melina. Candice Michelle fairly quickly pins Melina.
WINNERS: Mickie James and Candice Michelle
What, does Raw not have any other female wrestlers?! I’m sick of this match-up. Let’s move on Vince.
Match #2: Chris Masters Vs Santino Marella
Santino’s first televised match - other than in Italy. Masters sets the pace of this match by using his strength on Marella. Marella gets some good moves in, moving out of the way quickly when Masters charges at him, causing Masters a bit of a headache after hitting the ring post. Marella quickly comes up from behind and rolls him up for the 1-2-3.
WINNER: Santino Marella
Something is rotten in the town of Denmark - no, Italy. Masters is usually a much tougher man to beat, but Marella seemed to have little problem. In my opinion, Vince needs to give Masters a little more time to “ripen” and earn his stripes. I saw very little moves from him, and first appearances mean everything.
Match #3: The Highlanders VS Umaga
(little side note here - when Umaga entered he walked past a spectator that had a sign that read “Umaga wears a diaper” - I couldn’t stop laughing)
Umaga enters the ring long enough to deliver 2 Samoan Spikes, one to each of the Highlanders, piling them up like cord wood. Umaga walks up onto the corner ring post to deliver a samoan splash from the top rope onto both Highlanders, pinning them both at the same time.
WINNER: Umaga
Umaga is not being touted as “The Next Bill Goldberg…Unbeatable”. Sorry, there’s only one Bill Goldberg - as any of his fans.
Match #4: HBK VS The Great Khali
No Disqualification, #1 Contenders Match, Jack VS the Giant.
See Jack run.
See Jack get chair.
See Jack hit Giant on head with chair.
See Giant go down.
See Giant get up and beat crap out of Jack.
HBK threw everything he had at Khali, but it wasn’t even close to enough. Khali ends the match with a double choke-slam onto the announcer table. HBK looks unconscious and the ref rings the bell.
WINNER: And new #1 Contender - the Great Khali.
Match #5: The Hardy Boys VS The World’s Greatest Tag Team
Murdock and Kade are once again at the announcers table.
Another awesome match with the Hardy boys. At one point in the fairly short match, Jeff climbed up onto the turnbuckle to do a swanton, but Haas climbed up and was attempting to pull him down. Jeff gives an invisible tag to Matt and Matt pulls Haas off of him. Jeff is finally able to do a beautiful Swanton off the top rope onto Haas for Matt to get the pin.
WINNER: The Hardy Boys
Kade and Murdock come into the ring, again, and offer their hands for a handshake. Jeff and Matt hesitate, but eventually shake their hands. “That’s all we wanted” Kade and Murdock said after the shake as they backed off. Sorry, but something’s up here.
Carlito comes out and makes a huge stink about Flair and his inability to teach - he says that he DOES have passion, and that he is going toget rid of all the garbage in his life - starting with Torri. Torri slaps Carlito and then runs out of the ring - Carlito following.
Match #6: Edge VS Mr. Kennedy
Earlier in the night, Edge suckered convinced Mr. Kennedy to go up against him in a match with the Money in the Bank briefcase on the line.
Edge attacks Mr. Kennedy from behind as he’s coming down the ramp. Edge grabs a TV Monitor from the announcers table and hits Mr. Kennedy with it. The match has still not officially started, but the Ref asks Mr. Kennedy if he wants to continue, and Mr. Kennedy agrees. The bell rings and Edge runs at Mr. Kennedy with a spear, ending up with a pin.
WINNER: Edge - the “New” Mr. Money in the Bank.
Match #7: Randy Orton VS John Cena
Orton makes a huge stink about wanting to get his life back on track, starting tonight. Orton and Cena start out with a good match - until Cena gets distracted by watching Khali walk down the ramp and to the announcers table. Khali grabs the WWE title and starts to walk off. Cena gets pissed and gets Orton into a submission hold for the win, and then runs off after Khali.
On the ramp he grabs Khali. Khali swings around and hits Cena with the belt, knocking him down. Khali towers over the unconscious Cena for a few minutes, with the title in hand, and then heads off to the locker room.
