Mysterio “Chooses Sides”
Rey Mysterio’s contract is on the verge for re-newal, signing with WWE or has already been done. Sources within described the signing as a definate. WWE offered Mysterio a five-year contract, but he has only agreed to a three-year deal.
Mysterio had serious discussions with Mexico’s AAA promotion, which included a three movie deal as part of their offer. The idea was to make Mysterio the modern day version of El Santo [Santo, el Enmascarado de Plata (Saint, the Silver Masked Man), was a Mexican professional wrestler, film actor, and folk hero. Santo, along with Blue Demon & Mil Máscaras, is one of the most famous and iconic of all Mexican luchadores, or free wrestlers, and has been referred to as one of "the greatest legends in Mexican sports] the legendary lucha libre performer who was a wrestling and movie star in Mexico.
Mysterio made it known during his negotiations with WWE officials that he wants to be considered for a WWE Films movie role. There are also plans to release a Mysterio autobiography.
