I’ve got two words for you - Mr. President. I was on an airplane heading towards Germany when the pilot announced that the next President of the United States of America was going to be Barack Obama. I told my wife he would win by a landslide and that’s exactly what happened. It’s still a bit surreal. I would have given just about anything to have been in Grant Park that night. This is a time in American history that I thought I might not have ever seen, like so many others before me. To my grandparents, my heroes in the history books and the thousands that never made the history books, who aren’t alive to witness this glorious time- thank you for fighting, dreaming and believing.
I do want to mention that while on that flight to Germany, I was moved by the fact that it wasn’t only the Americans applauding our new President-Elect but the German passengers as well. A global change has been made. I have always loved my country. Honestly though, I am prouder today than I have ever been before. I feel like the world is suddenly a better, happier, unified place. It’s up to all of us to keep it that way. No more excuses.
Ok, so with that said, I hope to leave politics out of my blogs from this point on and focus on my love of this business - wrestling entertainment.
RAW’s 800thepisode celebration was decent. I thought the appearance by Bret “The Hitman” Haas was pretty funny not to be outdone by my mentor Ron Simmons….”Damn.” The Boogeyman gave my daughter his “heart” in the parking lot after the show. He scared her and that was his peace offering. She loves it so, that’s all that matters.
It’s been a fast-paced European tour so far. We’re in England most of this week and off to Ireland on Thursday and wrapping the tour up in Scotland. This is the best job there is! No doubt it’s difficult to be away from home but if you’ve got to travel, this is the way to do it. Besides, I’ll get enough rest when I’m dead. I do thank God that my laptop and cell phone work here.
Remember……..Go Big or Go Home!
