-ECW Champ, Matt Hardy had an recent interview with SCNow.com. Here are a few highlights:

What’s the biggest difference in being a singles wrestler?

Well, the biggest thing about being a singles wrestler is there’s no Jeff to tag to. You have to be in tip-top shape. That’s the first thing you have to get ready for.

You trained under the legendary Dory Funk before you signed with WWE. Do you see anything different in today’s wrestling from what Funk taught you and Jeff?

Training with him gave us a sense of the old style of wrestling, building a match from A to B to C to D. The thing that’s most different (now is) you can’t always go from A to B because of television and time restictions. Sometimes you start at D. More on the interview>>>>>

Smackdown Countdown: Triple H, Ross “Protect Ric from Ric”

Thursday, September 11th, 2008

September 11, 2008 - Grab your steel chair, elbow pads, and Magic Marker-laden poster board — the SmackDown Countdown is finally here.

For eight years IGN’s been teaming with THQ to bring you videos, screens, and information for every playable character in the latest WWE videogame, and this year is no different — except for the fact that it’s very different. Rather than hand you the entire roster at the onset of this feature and then profiling the people on it day by day, we’re going to give you the roster one person at a time.

That’s right; every day we’ll be announcing a new character in the game. The SmackDown Countdown: Triple H All hail the king of kings.

-Jr has updated his blog. Here are a few hightlights from his thoughts on Ric Flair…..

-Some of my most fun and memorable moments outside the wrestling ring have come with “Naitch” as well. My stories and experiences with him are damn near endless. For many years when I lived in Dallas and Atlanta, I was single and when Flair came to town it was “on” without question.

I have never nor will I ever judge if Ric was right or wrong leaving the WWE recently but I can understand him wanting to strike while the iron is hot and make as much money as he can as quickly as he can. Ric’s personal obligations not to mention the fact that he has to prepare for his financial future like all of us can’t go unaddressed.

Blackjack Mulligan who probably knows Flair as well as anyone told noted wrestling writer Mike Mooneyham that Jack was worried about what would become of Ric once he retired. Many of us were happy that the WWE hired Ric to be a “Good Will Ambassador” for a healthy amount of money. Some thought that perhaps this would keep the charismatic individual with the seemingly unscratchable itch for excitement and living on the edge content.

It didn’t.

Then “The Champ” signed with an agency to handle his bookings. This should be a good thing. However, what Ric Flair needs is full time management on a on going basis and not just some one to negotiate a fee and book Ric to go somewhere and sign his name.

Ric needs some one to help protect Ric from Ric.

The incidents of the past few days have troubled me. Seeing my dear friend with a nasty, black eye as a result of a still somewhat unexplained incident involving his youngest daughter and. allegedly. her boyfriend. Bad publicity soon followed the incident that included Ric’s own daughter get tasered by the police.

This is not a good deal any way one slice’s it. Yeah, it might be great cannon fodder for a reality show but is that a good thing?

Perhaps “Naitch” should ask “The Hulkster” about that one.

I desperately want Ric Flair to be happy and successful. He deserves as much. Ric Flair is loved by many of us and revered in the world of sports and entertainment by some of the most prominent personalities alive.

I wanted to call “Naitch” when I heard of the ordeal he went through this week but I realized that for the first time in years and years that I did not have his cell number. I can’t remember the last time I did not have Ric Flair’s phone number and how much I looked forward to his text messages during college football season or the hilarious texts I would sometimes receive at 4 in the morning. Some of Ric’s other friends have said they have called but have been unable to reach him.

At least they have his number.

I just want the Nature Boy story to have a happy ending. The legacy of Ric Flair will endure long after many of us are gone and just as any other larger than life personality the legend of “The Naitch” will grow.

Let’s all think positive thoughts that there will be a happy ending to the amazing life of Nature Boy Ric Flair

Wise ass, Internet, wrestling scribes making light of Justin Credible working at an Olive Garden Restaurant should be ashamed of themselves. There is damn sure nothing wrong with earning an honest day’s work no matter what any one chooses to do for a living. I heard this same crap from friends and relatives when I first got in the wrestling business. More on Ross>>>>>>>>>>

WWE thinking of Own TV Channel, 1st LOOK..WWE SVR 09 Infrno Match - Video

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

-It appears WWE is considering moving their 24/7 programming from an on-demand pay-per-view subscription service to its own television channel. Currently the company is doing a marketing study which is probably being done to try and present the cable companies with evidence that people will switch to or from satellite, based on the ability to see the WWE channel as a free service.

It’s known that Vince McMahon has talked about WWE needing its own TV channel for years now. One advantage of having their own channel would be if the USA Network or MyNetworkTV changed their minds on carrying WWE programming, wasn’t interested in anymore or had some sort of power shift, then WWE would have its own channel to air their programming on.

WWEKids Magazine on Sale..Update

Thursday, May 8th, 2008

wwekids-1stissue.jpg

Some of WWE’s biggest fans are our littlest fans – kids. They tune in to WWE programming week after week, log on to WWE.com and now they can grab a copy of WWE Kids Magazine to check out the latest in sports-entertainment and beyond.

“The goal of WWE Kids Magazine is to entertain and educate kids ages 6 to 14,? said Vice President and Editor-in-Chief Tony Romando. “Through the power of their favorite Superstars, we’re looking to challenge young fans’ minds as well as bodies with tips on everything from healthy eating to history lessons.?

The magazine, which is published once every two months, isn’t just for WWE fans. There’s a little something for every young reader to enjoy, including puzzles, comics and the latest in entertainment.

“Mind Slammers is the most popular section with WWE Kids readers. It’s packed with puzzles, hidden picture challenges and activities that challenge every level of WWE Wrestling knowledge,? Romando explained. “There are also match results in the magazine, great photos, pranks, sports, video game reviews and awesome Superstar interviews.?

Don’t be surprised if the parents of young readers are caught red-handed with a copy of WWE Kids Magazine. WWE.com recently talked to several Superstars and Divas who said they, too, are big fans of the colorful and exciting read.

“Of course I’ve read the new WWE Kids Magazine – I, the Gold Standard, am prominently featured in it, after all,? said ECW’s Shelton Benjamin. “There’s a great Fab vs. Flab section which highlights all of the perfect parts of my body.? (Click below the link)

Jillian’s favorite section of the inaugural May/June 2008 issue is Slammin’ Super Fans, which features hot A-List celebrities who are also big WWE fans.

“Bow Wow, Aaron Carter and Snoop Dogg are fans of WWE, or more importantly, fans of me,? Raw’s Diva songstress said. “Ashanti’s a big fan, too. She sang ‘America the Beautiful’ at WrestleMania XIX, but that’s only because I wasn’t available.?

Finally, Matt Striker explained to WWE.com that being a former teacher, he is well-versed in children’s publications, including a new favorite, WWE Kids Magazine.

“What I like about the magazine is that is brings our youth up to a level as opposed to talking down to them. Yes, there are cartoons and more children-friendly images, but we don’t dumb down in the magazine,? Your Teacher explained.

“This forces the youth of America to come up, maybe look a word up or ask their parents, heaven forbid, for some help! ‘Mom, what does ‘trepidations’ mean?’ or ‘Mom, what does ‘arrogant’ mean?’ – Especially in a story about me, Matt Striker, Your Teacher,? the ECW Superstar smiled.

“So I really do enjoy it. There are a lot of great features, and of course, being a kid myself, I really, really like a lot of the artistic ability that’s in the magazine,? he said. “I look forward to contributing to the magazine and perhaps writing a column. Maybe, Ask Your Teacher? What do you do think??

Striker may believe he has some important lessons for WWE Kids Magazine readers, and with a publication packed with sports-entertainment, brain-busting puzzles and most importantly, fun, anything goes – maybe even a lesson by Matt Striker, Your Teacher.
