Torrie Wilson Gets Ignored by WWE, Not Wrestling Again and MORE

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

im-a-celebrity-get-me-out-of-here-season-2-torrie-wilsonKevin Eck of the Baltimore Sun got an phone interview this past Wednesday with former WWE diva Torrie Wilson. Torrie talks about finishing second place on NBC reality show, “I’m an Celebrity…Get Me Outta Here” only losing by 1%, plus comments made to World Wrestling Entertainment and Vince McMahon.

So which was worse, a snake slithering across your face or making out with Vince McMahon?

Oh, making out with Vince, for sure [laughs]. I’ll take the snake any day.

What’s next for you at this point?

I am working on a workout video, which I think we’re going to start taping in August. It’s a lot of the workout that I did in the jungle, really back to basics. We’re going to do a series of them. I’ve got lots of meetings out in L.A. now. Hopefully [the show] will open up quite a few doors for me. There’s definitely been a lot of interest.

What are your thoughts on the divas battle royal that you participated in at WrestleMania XXV? It seemed like a bit of a cluster.

I’m very mad at myself and embarrassed that I agreed to be a part of something like that. A lot of people in the audience didn’t even know that I was in that match because they didn’t even announce it. For me, that whole experience at WrestleMania was kind of like closure. I feel like maybe I’m not appreciated like I would have hoped. They just wanted all these girls there. Now I can understand why Trish [Stratus] decided not to do it; she was smart. Going into it I trusted them that they would use me in the right way and I should have known better. All in all, I learned a valuable lesson.

When you say it was closure, do you think that’s it for you as far as doing anything in wrestling?

I do. I just didn’t appreciate that experience and I felt very unappreciated after all of the years that I put in for them. You combine that with the fact that I asked them to do a little thing on wwe.com to “vote for Torrie” and they just ignored me. So, my feelings are hurt.

WWE New Diva Signee - Shimmer Champion w/ Photos

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

serenadeeb2Shimmer Wrestling issued the following press release:

Everyone at SHIMMER - WOMEN ATHLETES would like to congratulate Serena Deeb on officially signing a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment.

From the first day she stepped into a wrestling ring, it has always been Serena’s goal to earn a job with WWE. Serena moved from Virginia to Kentucky on her own dime for the sole purpose of enrolling in the Ohio Valley Wrestling training program several years ago, and she has been a mainstay in the OVW women’s division ever since.

Serena debuted for SHIMMER on May 21, 2006 as a last minute substitution when an opening on the lineup created an opportunity. During the three years that followed, Serena displayed tremendous drive, determination, and eagerness to constantly learn. She has always tried to improve her game, be it in SHIMMER competition, at OVW, or in her handful of appearances for Ring of Honor.

Despite OVW losing its status a WWE developmental territory last year, Serena remained focused on achieving her goal of impressing WWE officials enough to be given a chance. All of Serena’s hard work has now paid off, as she will soon be relocating to Florida to start with WWE developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling.

Personally speaking, I feel that Serena Deeb is one of the top three female babyface talents in North America today. She’s got unbelievable fire, and can project emotion better than most wrestlers of a similar age and experience level. These are essential attributes to go along with the sound athletic wrestling fundamentals which she also possesses. She’s a complete package, and is perfect for television.

Serena’s training at OVW not only prepared her quite well for professional wrestling in general, but also specifically for the style of wrestling which WWE is looking for. Serena’s continued instruction at FCW will only sharpen her existing skills, in preparation for the next stage of her career.

The three match series between Serena and Sara Del Rey were truly breakout performances for her as a wrestler. I feel those matches excellently displayed Serena’s unbelievable potential to become a star in this industry. In her outings several weeks ago at the SHIMMER Vols. 23-26 tapings in Chicago, Serena continued to show that she absolutely deserved the spot at the top of the card that she had worked her way into.

I’d like to thank Serena Deeb for all of her contributions to SHIMMER during the past three years. From all of the memorable matches, to sacrificing her car on the drive up for the SHIMMER Title Tournament weekend, Serena gave so much to our product. Though we’ll greatly miss her at future tapings, Serena has now been given the chance of a lifetime– to work her way to the top of her chosen profession.

Good luck, Serena… and congrats!

Torrie Wilson Talks About “I’m an Celebrity….”

Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

torriemyspace.jpgThe following is from Torrie Wilson Myspace:

Hey guy’s!

Well I am finally back home from the Costa Rican jungle where I was filming the show
“I’m a celebrity, get me outta here!” 30 days of living in the jungle and eating mostly rice and beans sure made me appreciate my home sweet home! I had a great time and made tons of good friends..and was really happy that I got to show people who I really am! I definitely underestimated how hard it was really going to be, by day 3 I found myself looking around camp going “wow, this is gonna be much harder than I thought!” I used my inner strength to get me through and realized I am much more fierce than I ever thought. Quitting was NEVER an option. I want to live by the 2 little words “NO REGRETS” everyday of my life. I hope that I can be a positive influence in many people’s lives by demonstrating that you can do anything if you put your heart and soul into it and don’t give up! I had a few day’s when I was miserable and homesick but without those bad days I would not have walked away from this experience a changed person and appreciated it so much. Nothing is ever easy in life and how boring would it be if it always was?

I came in 2nd place behind Lou Diamond Philips and it was ridiculously close. Only less than 1/10th of 1% of the votes separated us and I later heard they had to do a recount because I was in the lead the previous day. Lou definitely deserves the crown, he’s a great guy and a hard worker…I am elated to have made it to the very last day and owe all of you that voted a big huge THANKYOU!!!! I have the best fans and friends in the world!!

I am very excited about the opportunites coming my way and will of course keep you all posted……working on the first in a series of workout videos already and am so excited because this is something I have ALWAYS wanted to do! I love working out and have so many great tips and tricks to share!

Thankyou God for my friends new and old..and for giving me such a beautiful life changing experience.

mucho kisses!

Hi Everyone,

I hope all of you are doing well! I am writing to address the situation in which WWE is looking for a Female Ring Announcer/Singer. The truth of the matter is that they are looking for someone new because I have given them my notice that I will be leaving at the end of my contract this year. It is with a heavy heart that I have made this decision because WWE has been my family from day one and you, the WWE Universe have always been incredible to me. The fact is that I am getting married later this year and have decided to enter into a new phase of my life but I will truly miss all of you and the WWE tremendously.

candice-otr6-Recently released WWE Diva Candice Michelle has posted the following messgae on her personal fansite: http://candi-shop.org

Hey everyone!

In case you weren’t aware, I recently parted ways with the WWE, but I’m ready to take off on exciting new adventures. All the WWE executives, divas and superstars were awesome during my five years of wrestling.

Now that I’m free from the ring, I have time to spread my wings. I’ve just joined the Los Angeles Youth Network as an Ambassador, and am ready to begin working with LAYN and the homeless kids living on the streets of LA. I’ve also recently returned from a leadership seminar in San Francisco and have never felt so alive!

Believe me, exciting times are ahead. Thank you to all the fans, fan sites, friends and family for your amazing love and support. And be sure to keep coming back to GoDaddy.com to see all that I’m up to in the days, weeks and months ahead.

Kennedy New Movie Role, Maria Discusses Her “Diva” Role

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

-Former WWE star Mr Kennedy has interest in movie roles. Kennedy has posted the following message from his Twitter :http://twitter.com/secondpower

Reading through 2 different scripts and working on a new website! Coming SOON! My old site will still remain, this one’s gonna b different

-On Milwaukee.com has an interview with WWE Diva Maria at yesterday’s Bradley Center for the Smackdown/ECW taping. Here is the interview in its entirety:

World Wrestling Entertainment “diva’ Maria Kanellis is town for the “WWE SmackDown and ECW” event tonight at the Bradley Center. We caught up with Kanellis, a native of Ottawa, Ill., who posed for Playboy last year, in advance of the show.

OnMilwaukee.com: You’re a Midwestern girl. Do you like doing shows in these parts?

Maria Kanellis: Definitely. I always love going back. It’s always nice to see my family. It’s exciting for me.

OMC: You’ve been in California for awhile now. Could you handle a Midwestern winter?

MK: I definitely can handle it. I still like the snow. But, I don’t really like the cold. My sister gives me a hard time about that.

OMC
: It seems funny that the phrase “diva” used to come with a negative connotation — meaning high-maintenance– but you guys use it in kind of a different way. Are you aware of that? Who is the biggest true diva on the circuit?

MK: That’s funny. Certain individuals get called divas, but for the most part we all get along really well. The WWE Diva is defined as smart, sexy and powerful women. There is nothing wrong with that.

OMC: What’s the best part about being a Diva?

MK:
Definitely going out and feeling the crowd and their energy and their excitement. It doesn’t matter if there are 2,000 people, 15,000 or 90,000, it’s an amazing feeling you experience that energy.

OMC: What’s the toughest part of being a Diva?

MK: The worst is being away from the family so much.

OMC: Milwaukee area native Candice Michelle was bothered by injuries a lot (toward the end of her affiliation with WWE). Do people realize how demanding this activity is?

MK: It can be tough. You do get a lot of injuries. Sometimes, the worst part is getting on the plane when you are sore after a show. You don’t get much sleep on the plane. We have to work out a lot. It’s not just something you can start doing. Like they say “Don’t try this at home.”

OMC: Yes, but a lot of people do. I’ve seen the backyard videos…

MK: We have people come up all the time and ask “How do I do it. How can I get started?”

OMC: What’s your advice?

MK: What I say to them is that you have to work hard and never, ever give up.
