Undertakers Update and Possible Return, Batista Update

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

undertaker-original-deadman-The Undertaker is said to be working out very hard in preparation for his return. WWE hopes to have him back in time for a meaningful match at Summerslam.

Taker’s surgery was a success but he is said to still be banged up. He is pushing hard to get back and is said to be very dedicated to still performing at a high level for WWE.

He feels that the company needs him and he wants to get back and help WWE and more specifically help the Smackdown brand. Taker has his mind set on returning sooner than later, despite sources within WWE feeling that at this point in his career he should be more cautious and make sure he is completely healthy before returning.

John Cena Hater Ejected, Matt Hardy Needs Surgery, Trump on Raw Delivers Blockbuster Ratings

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

-On last night’s edition of Monday Night Raw, when John Cena threw his hat into the audience. The fan who caught the hat threw it back at Cena was then ejected from the arena. It’s interesting to note that during his promo with the Miz, Cena referenced the surviving the Hammerstein Ballroom. He was talking about the riotous anti-Cena crowd from the ECW One Night Stand Pay-Per-View (2006) where he dropped the WWE title to Rob Van Dam. Before that match, Cena threw his shirt into the audience and the audience member who caught it also threw the shirt back into the ring at Cena. That fan was not ejected.

-According to WrestlingObsever.com, Hardy suffered a torn abdominal muscle during taping of Thursday’s edition of WWE Superstars between Kofi Kingston, MVP and Matt Hardy and is scheduled for surgery later this week.

-The ratings are in, and Monday’s commercial-free edition of Raw delivered a 4.5 coverage household rating / 7 share in 4,475,000 TV households with 6,813,000 total viewers (persons 2+).

This household rating is up 25 percent versus the last two-hour episode of Raw on June 8, which posted a 3.6 coverage household rating / 6 share in 3,582,000 TV households with 5,460,000 total viewers.

Raw’s 6,813,000 total viewers made it the most watched episode in more than seven years (since March 25, 2002).

Batista’s Surgery - Photos, Former WWE Star Kennedy Talks “Injury Prone”

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

-WWE.com has posted photo’s of WWE superstar Dave Batista’s surgery on his torn bicep here.

mr-kennedy

-Recently released and former WWE superstar Ken Kennedy has posted the following statements on his official website Ken-Kennedy.com about being “injury prone”:

 Injury prone. Believe it……..or not…… -

Just some food for thought and maybe some questions you can ask yourselves.

If I take a sledgehammer and SMASH you in the side of the head and you get hurt very badly, does that make you “injury prone”?

If I cut off your arm with a samurai sword, and you have to have it reattached (causing you to miss several months of work) are you also then to be considered…”injury prone”?

Well let’s say that you’re in a match in Italy standing on the apron during a ten man tag match, and a guy is supposed to come over and give you a little forearm which will cause you to drop to the floor, but INSTEAD, he decides to drop kick your ass into the 20th row, he virtually leg presses you off the apron, and you have a “Matrix” like moment in your head where you see yourself flying backwards through the air. You clear the mats that line the floor outside the ring and because you’re trying to protect your head from smashing into the guardrail, you stretch your right arm over your head. At the moment you make IMPACT with the concrete floor, your arm stretched out over your head and the sudden stop causes the tendon in your latissimus dorsi (or that big back muscle that you see on bodybuilders, ya know the ones that look like wings…) to SNAP in two and it coils up down your side to the point that’s in line with your belly button. Let’s say…..hypothetically…….that this happened to you. Would you call yourself….”injury prone”?

Let’s throw another “hypothetical situation” out there. Let’s say that you’re having a match with a guy who’s just supposed to give you a lil’ old schoolboy to end the match. Just a nice and easy rollup for the finish. In fact the night before he hit you with his finish and the crowd didn’t really react as strongly as you would have liked it to, so the agent (or producer) who’s in charge of your match that night has told your opponent specifically NOT to hit his finish. Now keep in mind that having said this, your opponent’s finisher is probably the furthest thing from your mind. So as you’re waiting for this nice little easy rollup for the finish, the guy leaps into the air, hooks your head tight, causing your right arm to get caught between your two bodies, and drives you chest first into the mat. You go from standing to laying on your stomach with your arm stretched across your chest and your shoulder pops out of it’s socket, tearing that muscle about 60% away from the bone. Now again, would an event such as this make you……”injury prone”?

Now if something like this HAD ever happened to me (again, these are strictly hypothetical situations), I probably wouldn’t say anything about it to anyone. I for one would never want to bury another talent, whine or cry about it, I’d probably just chalk it up to poor judgement, and being in the wrong place at the wrong time, rather than accusing someone of being a stiff in the ring. Let’s face it, accidents happen in the wrestling business which is why there are countless videos of “wrestling screw-ups” on YouTube. Every once in awhile if you’re in the wrestling business, you’re gonna get a BOO-BOO.

Dave’s surgery went well Tuesday to repair his tendon. He’s back in Tampa now recovering.

Also, since a few people have asked. Batista did not suffer a torn biceps as WWE is reporting on their website. The WWE storyline, which is being reported on their website, is remaining the torn muscle in order to make Legacy’s attack seem more fierce.

Last night on Monday night Raw, Batista got jumped by Randy Orton and Legacy, Rhodes and Dibiase to sell Batista’s torn bicep injury.

Jeff Hardy Injured, Batista Injured as Well - Update

Monday, June 8th, 2009

edge-jeff-extreme-reules-2009

-Jeff hardy sustained an broken finger and an banged up shoulder at last night’s Extreme Rules PPV, according to Jeff’s girlfriend Brit, she posted on her twitter account:

-Batista was diagnosed earlier today with a torn tendon in the biceps. The good news there is the injury is no longer believed to be a full fledged muscle tear, which means less time out of the ring.

The tendon tear is believed to have occurred about 3 weeks ago but there’s no clear cut moment as to when. People believe it is the result of wear and tear on the body through the weeks.

There is no word yet on how long he is expected to be out but those within WWE are hopeful it will be minimal, while yesterday they were expecting the worst.

Update on The Undertaker “Possible Surgery”, Tonight’s Raw ***SPOILER***

Monday, May 4th, 2009

undertaker-original-deadmanDave Meltzer is reporting that The Undertaker missed last week’s Smackdown/Superstars tapings at Madison Square Garden because both his knees and his hip are bothering him.

The word going around is that The Undertaker would be undergoing minor surgery on his knee, but there is a fear that when he undergoes the procedure, more damage could be found.

This explains the push of John Morrison as a babyface, and might force WWE to turn up pressure on Jeff Hardy to re-sign. Shawn Michaels, Undertaker’s Wrestlemania opponent, was given time off to rest up.

-PWInisder reports:

Expect to see an arm wrestling match during tonight’s show as the production truck unloaded the apparatus this morning.

triple-h-at-backlash-ortons-punt

Following last night’s injury angle at Backlash, Triple H is expected to be out of action until the summer.

PWInisder reoprts he will be back in time for a revenge angle this summer as the early plan for the main event at Summerslam is Triple H vs. Randy Orton.

What will actually be a surprise is if this current plan stays intact knowing how WWE changes plans on a regular basis.

hbk-wrestlemania-25

F4WOnline reports RAW is quite loaded on the face side following Batista’s return, so this is probably the best time for him to take some time off. Matt Hardy Injured, Required Stitches - Photo

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

Matt Hardy had an match against his brother Jeff in an Tables, Ladder and Chairs match in Cologne Germany this past week. During the match Matt was lying down with an chair on top of him, when his brother Jeff hit him with an swanton off the top rope. When Jeff hit his mark, the chair somehow hit Matt in the face causing his eye to bleed profusely.

The ref immediately made the cross sign “X” which meant injury. Another ref helped out by giving Matt towels to help with his face off. Jeff did and twist of fate on Matt and the match was over. Here you can see the photo of Matt, from his Myspace account below:

Batista’s Surprise Return, NOT Fully Recovered??!!!!!!

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

batista-returns-4-6-091
It’s being reported that Raw star Batista told WWE officials several weeks ago that his rehab was running ahead of schedule, and that he wanted to return to Raw as soon as possible. This explains why he made a sudden return to TV this past Monday night. It’s also being said that prior to his injury, The Animal told company officials that he needed some time off, as he was suffering from burnout and wanted to rest up some nagging injuries. However, with several other Raw stars claiming the same thing, management requested that Batista remain on TV and work through his issues as they felt the show could not do without his presence. This of course lead to Batista suffering a hamstring injury which has now kept him out of action for several months. Now that he has returned, the fear internally is that at his age, it might not have been a smart move for him to return to action before he is fully healed.
