John Cena who is from Boston, got a ton of heat sitting courtside at game six of the NBA playoff game between the Orlando Magic and Boston Celtics. He arrived in a Celtics jersey but the Magic, who comp’d his seat, told him if he didn’t wear a Magic jersey he would have to hit the bricks. At half time he made a sign with a piece of paper and a felt-tip pen reading “LEAVE THE MAGIC AT DISNEY!” and held it up for TV cameras: SEE PHOTO CLICK BELOW

Unforgiven Thoughts, Mystery Man with World Tag Team

Monday, September 8th, 2008

Sitting in the Cleveland Airport trying to blog on my Blackberry and I hope I don’t “tap.”
Unforgiven was an intriguing event…had its moments….gave some talents a chance to perform on the main stage….and it was interesting to see how the 3 Scramble bouts could have their own unique identity.

The show was fun to be a part of because of all the above. On a scale of 1-10 I would give it a solid 7, which equates to value for the price of admission. JR’s thoughts on Unforgiven

- Afa Jr, current WWE developmental, now apparantly WWE roster, ran down last night at Unforgiven. After the tag match between Cody Rhodes, Ted Dibiase Jr. and Cryme Tyme, Afa came running down after the match, taking out Cryme Tyme. He then celebrated with the tag team champs. Later after the tag team introduced him as son of WWE Hall of famer, Afa.

Chris Jericho wins World Heavyweight Championship Scramble

CLEVELAND – Finding the usual opportunity in others’ misfortune at Unforgiven was Chris Jericho, who finagled his way into the World Heavyweight Championship Scramble after CM Punk was deemed unable to compete. A perfectly calculated, unforgivable attack by Randy Orton and a trio of fellow multi-generational Superstars on Punk bore a shocking result as Jericho – the first-ever Undisputed Champion in WWE history – is now the new World Heavyweight Champion.

A recuperating, embittered Orton seemingly devised the plan that proved to be a critical play in sports-entertainment at Unforgiven. Just moments before the World Heavyweight Championship Scramble, the Straightedge Superstar was confronted by Orton in the locker room area. Echoing his message from days earlier on Raw, the Legend Killer’s verbal exchange distracted Punk long enough for World Tag Team Champions Ted DiBiase & Cody Rhodes and newfound associate Manu (son of Wild Samoan Afa) to blindside the tattooed champion, plus ward off the attempted assistance of Kofi Kingston.

Then, Orton’s notoriously lethal head punt – which has felled countless top names before – put Punk out of commission and incapable of defending the gold that he’s worked tirelessly to uphold since July. Given CM Punk’s condition, Raw General Manager Mike Adamle was forced to find a suitable replacement for Punk in the Scramble, where a new champion was guaranteed to be crowned.

Despite a loss earlier to Shawn Michaels in an Unsanctioned Match that was stopped by a referee due to Jericho’s condition, Jericho somehow maneuvered himself into the main event against Batista, Kane, John “Bradshaw” Layfield and Rey Mysterio – a match of five former World Champions.

The Animal kicked things off with JBL, followed by the sinister seven-footer, Kane, who earned the first fall over the Longhorn Loudmouth. The Big Red Monster’s momentum came to a halt, however, courtesy of fourth entrant Mysterio, who quickly proved that he is very much alive, despite Kane’s previous claims.

Shock then filled the faces of the competitors and WWE Universe alike as the man who’d earlier been obliterated by HBK made his entrance, signaling Punk’s inability to battle. Still aching and pained from The Showstopper’s thrashing, Jericho barely saw action until he capitalized on Batista’s dregs – a fallen Kane – to secure the third and final pin of the Raw Scramble with just nine seconds remaining.

Instantly, one of the worst nights in Chris Jericho’s sports-entertainment career became his greatest achievement since his return to the ring in late 2007.

By contrast, tonight was supposed to be the biggest and also most challenging night in CM Punk’s World Heavyweight Championship reign; his proving ground against four former World Champions in Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena. Instead, the Straightedge Superstar, himself, became a former World Champion, with the credit going to Orton and his ruthless cohorts.

While questions linger regarding this unique alliance, as well as Punk’s plans for retaliation following the loss of the most important prize in his career, perhaps only one matter is truly pinnacle: With the contemptible Chris Jericho bearing the glisten of the World Heavyweight Championship, who will save us now?

Official Raw Pre-View: The night belongs to Jericho

Monday, September 8th, 2008

At Unforgiven, Chris Jericho experienced both one of the lowest and one of the highest points of his impressive career. Despite receiving a righteous beating at the hands of Shawn Michaels earlier in the night, the first-ever Undisputed Champion went on to win the first-ever World Heavyweight Championship Scramble. Having beat out four other Superstars to win the gold, who will World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho defend the title against first? And now that he has proven himself as Raw’s “top-dog,” can the rivalry between Jericho and HBK be put to bed? Now that he’s defeated his rival and new World Heavyweight Champion, what does this mean for Shawn Michaels’ future and career?

Jericho was not originally scheduled to be part of the Scramble, and only received his slot after then-World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk was rendered unable to defend it. The Straightedge Superstar was attacked in the locker room area by Randy Orton along with World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase and Manu, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Afa. With the championship gold around the waist of Jericho, and a team of impressive second and third-generation Superstars to blame, who will feel Punk’s wrath first? Also, what is the nature of the alliance between Orton, Rhodes, DiBiase & Manu? Have they forged a new coalition of ruthless Superstars?

World Tag Team Champions Rhodes & DiBiase’s performance wasn’t solely limited to the beating they administered to the former World Heavyweight Champion, however. The two also successfully defended their titles against Cryme Tyme, proving that there’s more to these competitors than impressive last names. With the more experienced Randy Orton seemingly in their corner, who will fall at the World Tag Team Champions’ feet next?

For the answers to these questions and more, make sure to tune in to Monday Night Raw at 9/8 CT only on USA Network.

Unforgiven still Tag Champs, HBK Retrobution on Y2J - Video

Sunday, September 7th, 2008

CLEVELAND — After taking Randy Orton’s words to heart on Raw, World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase walked into Unforgiven with their new mindset and retained their titles against Cryme Tyme. The priceless pairing followed up their victory with the brutal post-match beating of Shad & JTG with the assistance of a vicious stranger.

CLEVELAND – Months worth of bad blood flowing between Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho came gushing to the surface Sunday night at Unforgiven.

In an emotional Unsanctioned Match, HBK overcame an injured tricep and interference by Jericho ally Lance Cade to unleash his considerable wrath on Jericho, punishing his opponent until referee Marty Elias was forced to intervene, stopping the bout before lethal damage could be inflicted. An enraged Michaels even lulled Elias to sleep with Sweet Chin Music.

The unrestrained brutality was a culmination of acrimonious events between these two fierce competitors. Their rivalry reached an ugly crescendo last month when, as Michaels addressed the crowd at SummerSlam, Jericho accidentally punched his wife Rebecca in the face.

In the wake of the incident, Michaels and Jericho agreed to an Unsanctioned Match, featuring no regulations and no liabilities. From the moment the match was set, thoughts of revenge flashed across Michaels’ furious eyes.

Tonight, inside the Quicken Loans Arena, he exacted that revenge.

Rather than quench his sense of vengeance, however, Michaels’ victory seemed only to fuel his competitive fire, a fire that shows no sign of extinguishing.

Unforgiven 2008 - My Thoughts

Saturday, September 6th, 2008

—————————————————

WWE Championship Scramble

I can see each man in this Raw Scramble win the title for at least a brief moment in their WWE history. How many times will the belt change until their is a final WWE Champ? I would have to say that all in all, Triple H will emerge victor in the raw Scramble. The wat I think, I know, I Know, isn’t all righto begin with, but Jeff Hardy took out Triple H last night on Smackdown! I could only see Jeff being champ at this point, but not just yet. My predict to win….Triple H.

World Heavyweight Championship Scramble

Well I am thinking the same way here. Each and every man will at some point during the match be World Champ. With Rey Mysterio replacing John Cena, I can’t see him winning the title just yet..too obvious. Will Big Dave re-capture the title. With every thing going to either Triple H, Batista, Randy Orton or even John Cena being champ on either brand. I hopefully can say either CM Punk retains the title or hell even Maybe even JBL wins. Gotta shake things up. This man has been in alot of PPV’s this year and I am going to say JBL wins..he is in need of a push for the title.

ECW Championship Scramble

Wow..can I say..three times a charm ..maybe???!!!!!! I really don’t see any on these participants winning the ECW title except Matt. I will tell you if Mark Henry retains the title, it will be because of interferance by Tony Atlas. But I see mark Henry retaining the title, but don’t count out Matt Hardy for the win.

Divas Championship Match

Okay for me ..if this was an T & A Match, Maryse would win this match hands down. This is only my opinion, I don’t want too upset Michelle McCool fans, she is “good-looking” but not as Maryse is..WWOOWWOWOWW..Okay enough about the HOTNESS back to the match. Even thou this is Maryse first pay per view event, I really don’t see her winning the Divas title..maybe down the road maybe even. But as a no-brainer Michelle McCool retians the Divas title.

Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho

This match is not going to be about a winner and a loser. This match is going to be who can endure the most punishment through-out the night. After Chris Jericho SMACKED down Michaels wife, Rebecca at Summer Slam, this haven’t been the same with the Michaels Family. Both these guys Y2J and HBk have wrote this storyline the whole time, no WWE Creative team involved. But I can see HBK getting ready to take his final blow to Chris Jericho, when his wife, rebecca steps in. You, the fan, can figure the ending here.

World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase vs. Cryme Tyme

I an see this match is going to be full of surprises. Cody and Ted Jr. have been good WWE Tag Champs, but a change is due. These men are young at heart and full of great talent. maybe it is time to split this duo up and have them seperate their tag team ways. Cryme Tyme will pull this one out of their hats, making them the NEW WWE Tag Team Champs at Unforgiven.

***** Hopefully this recents thoughts I have don’t change your idea, but bring in a new perspect to THE GAME. As it has always been said ” Don’t hate the playa, hate the game”

PWI Magazine, ECW Champ On Unforgiven; His Take

Friday, September 5th, 2008

-You have to give credit to the people who work for Pro Wrestling Illustrated. In the era of insider Web sites and newsletters, the mostly kayfabe magazine is still around and still relevant.

A subscriber to several of the family of magazines that came to be known as “Apter mags” (named after famous wrestling writer Bill Apter) when I was a teenager, I still get the PWI Wrestling Almanac and Book of Facts every year, as well as the PWI 500 and year-end awards issues.

-YOU’VE already read our thoughts on the WWE’s Unforgiven PPV.

So now it’s time to hand over to someone with a real inside track on what’s going on.

ECW champion Mark Henry spoke exclusively to SunSport about the show and it’s new Scramble title match contest.

The bouts have 20 minute time limits and feature five men, who enter at five minute intervals. The last star to score a pinfall or submission will be declared the champion.

Gail TNa Negotiations, Unforgiven Has Been FORGOT??!!!

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

-Apparently Gail Kim is still
in negotiations with TNA. Both Gail Kim and Dixie Carter were not pleased on how the agents and the lawyers handled everything with Gails terms with TNA. Even thought Gail has been offered an huge deal with WWE and had not signed just yet, Gail has her heart for TNA.

-Wrestling Observer/F4WONline are reporting that less than 6,000 seat has been sold for this Sunday’s Unforgiven. Far less then that is expected. Local stations in the nearby area are said to be giving away free tickets to this event to help boost the attendance.

WWE announces HBK Torn Tricep Injury - Video

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

Shawn Michaels injured his left triceps shortly after confronting Chris Jericho during their contract signing for Unforgiven. You can wach the video below of Shawnmichaels and Chris Jericho signing of the contract for Unforgiven. Near the end you can see an bad fall HBK takes almost landing on head, which I believe where the tron tricep occurs.

After a comprehensive examination, it has been determined that Shawn Michaels suffered a small tear on his left triceps during a confrontation with Chris Jericho, but is medically cleared to wrestle.

“Before the MRI,” Michaels told WWE.com, “my doctor was 99.9 percent sure that I had a full tear of my triceps and that I would experience bruising, swelling and a loss of my range of motion. Through the power of prayer, none of those things happened and I am ready for Unforgiven.”

Michaels’ Unsanctioned Match with Jericho at Sunday’s pay-per-view is as personal as any contest in sports-entertainment history. After Jericho struck HBK’s wife during Michaels’ retirement announcement at SummerSlam due to an eye injury suffered at Jericho’s hands, The Showstopper has had his mind and heart set on revenge.

“Regardless of what the MRI revealed, I made it clear that I was going forward with this match,” he said.

At the conclusion of Raw this week, after signing a contract for the pay-per-view match and fending off a surprise attack by Lance Cade, WWE fans at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis saw Michaels favoring his left elbow, which he appeared to injure. Immediate medical examination revealed a damaged left triceps.

What effect will this injury have on Shawn Michaels’ attempt at retribution against Chris Jericho this Sunday?

Unforgiven Match - ECW Championship Scramble

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Tonight in the the Land of the Extreme, Matt Hardy, The Miz, Chavo Guerrero and Finlay all qualified to face ECW Champion Mark Henry in an ECW Championship Scramble at Unforgiven.

Hardy earns first bid
In the first ECW Championship Scramble Qualifying Match of the night, Matt Hardy took on past ECW Champion John Morrison. Exhibiting great tenacity, Hardy pushed the Tuesday Night Delight to his limit in a back-and-forth battle, featuring multiple near pinfalls from both Superstars. In the end, though, Hardy was able to stop Morrison’s signature Moonlight Drive to deliver a hard-hitting Twist of Fate and pick up the win. The victory gives Hardy an opportunity at the ECW Championship – a title he has never held.

Singles success
After enjoying tag team success with John Morrison, The Miz has been looking to make a mark on the singles scene. Tonight, he faced a formidable opponent in Evan Bourne, who has never been pinned on ECW. Using an aggressive offense, The Miz was able to prevent Bourne from engaging in his signature high-flying maneuvers. The strategy paid off for The Miz, who was able to stun the newcomer with a Reality Check and pinfall.

Battle of the former champions
The third ECW Championship Scramble Qualifying Match of the night pitted Tommy Dreamer against Chavo Guerrero – both former ECW Champions. The opportunity for championship gold doesn’t come often, and both veterans knew that going into the match. In the end, it was the self-proclaimed “Mexican Warrior” who earned his chance for the title at Unforgiven by defeating the ECW Original with a Frog Splash.

Second chance
Last week on SmackDown, United States Champion Shelton Benjamin defeated Finlay to qualify for the WWE Championship Scramble at Unforgiven. But tonight, Finlay received a second chance at gold when he faced Mike Knox in the final ECW Championship Scramble Qualifying Match. At odds for weeks, the two engaged in a knock-down, drag-out brawl.

In the end, though, it turned out to be Finlay’s son, Hornswoggle, who was the difference maker in the match. The pint-sized prankster handed his father a shillelagh, which the Belfast Brawler used to go after Knox. But Knox was able to fend off Finlay with a kick to the gut and prevent being clobbered. The ref took the shillelagh from Finlay, but Hornswoggle had a back-up plan – a second shillelagh. This time, his father used it to take Knox out, and simultaneously earn the final spot in the ECW Championship Scramble at Unforgiven.
