My Fox News reported yeatserday that Jerry “The King” Lawler is running for Mayor of Memphis. Lawler told The Sun.UKmore details on him running for Memphis Mayor.

“I am going to do some media interviews and see what level of support is out there before I officially declare.

“I will be making an announcement by the end of this week.”

-G4 has an quick interview with newly crowned Kofi Kingston from E3. Kingston was last years winner in the THQ’s 2009 Superstar Challenge Wrestlemania 25 weekend.

The WWE Universe will be greeted by familiar faces when they see the headliners for this year’s game, some of WWE’s most popular and enduring Superstars.

LOS ANGELES — November 10, 2008 — It’s week five and professional wrestler and WWE World Champion Rob Van Dam makes a guest appearance in the CCW training ring to help the contestants perfect their own “finishing” moves to take out their opponents and end the match. A two-time ECW Tag Team World Champion and a four-time WWE Hardcore Champion, he is just the right man to whip the final six celebrities into shape for their most dangerous match yet. On Saturday, November 15 at 8:00 p.m., ET/PT on CMT, watch as Van Dam demonstrates his signature “5 Star Frog Splash”, a move that has crushed many of his opponents and given him a reputation as the best “finisher” in the business by ending matches with this final blow. The CCW contestants must use their new moves against each other in a “Battle Royale”, which will mark their first time in the ring as six individuals rather than two teams.

As the contestants practice for their upcoming fight, one celebrity’s overconfident attitude gets the best of him and the rest of the crew watches helplessly as he is whisked away in an ambulance. With less than 24 hours until the first-ever CCW “Battle Royale”, the remaining five celebrities come to a realization that no matter what happens or who gets hurt the show always goes on. With four contestants already out of the running for the title of CCW Champion, tune in this week to see who will be the next “Jabronie” and sent packing in another shocking elimination.

-Stars.IGN.com reports: Nowadays, THQ has gotten pretty good about filling out the roster in Smackdown vs. Raw. The WWE has superstars you’ll practically never see on TV, outside of the occasional opening match on Velocity (assuming that show even airs anymore). There they are in the game, though, precisely modeled and ready for the kind of matches they’d never get away with on Smackdown, RAW, or anywhere else.

(Dammit, they did cancel Velocity. There go all these Sho Funaki jokes, then. At least all the ones that are fit to print here.)

Still, a couple of superstars get left out in the cold every year, be they newcomers to the WWE, low men on the totem pole, or legends a couple of years past the peak of their fame. We thought we’d send a flare up for some of the men and women who least deserved to be left out in the cold this year – if we’re lucky, maybe THQ will take note and give them their due when the next game rolls around. The senior partner at my firm was recently in touch with an ad agency which puts together these commercials in which Goldberg discusses being injured in a car accident, on the job, etc. They’re surprisingly tasteful, however the asking price is $6,000 to film the ads (6-8 of them at 15-30 sec. each) and another $6,000 for the rights to air them in your firm’s TV market for six months.

Triple H and WWE diva, Kelley Kelly recently filmed an commercial for the new and coming Smackdown Vs Raw 2009 video game:

Kelly Kelly will star in a commercial to promote the upcoming WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2009 video game, which is set to be released Nov. 9.

“It was really, really cool,” the Raw Diva said. “I got to work with Triple H and we did a little skit, so we’ll have to see the finished product. It was fun!”

The Diva was sworn to secrecy about what exactly happens in the commercial, although she promises it’s funny, and entertaining.

“I got to do my entrance, my signature stuff,” she revealed.

-WWE has decided to slow down the pace of its storylines, mostly because things have been complained about to much. The storyline with Chris Jericho and Shawn Mchaels is one example.

The storyline with the third generation Superstars was supposed to see Randy Orton as the leader of the group with Ted DiBiase, Cody Rhodes and Manu within two or three weeks of the original tease but WWE has slowed down the angle with the idea it will be more effective that way.

- Terri Lynne Boatright Runnels is known for her wrestling personas from Miss Alexandra York in WCW to the more famous Marlena in WWF and diva Terri in WWE. Her rise to wrestling stardom included some major bumps in the road, especially during her pre-wrestling time working for CNN in Washington D.C.
