-Randy Orton def. Kane; Ted DiBiase, Manu & Sim Snuka attacked Orton & Cody Rhodes, but DiBiase turned on his associates

-Melina & Kelly Kelly vs. Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix & Jillian ended in a no contest after Rosa Mendes’ attack on Melina; Ted DiBiase, Cody Rhodes & Santino Marella announced as Royal Rumble participants

-Shawn Michaels def. World Heavyweight Champion John Cena with involvement from JBL

Tonight on Raw, five more superstars were announced for the Royal Rumble Match including WWE Tag Team Champions The Miz and John Morrison, Cody Rhodes, the returning of Ted Dibiase and Santino Marella.

-Randy Orton and Chris Jericho entered in the Royal Rumble Match, but not Shawn Michaels; World Heavyweight Champion John Cena & HBK to face Orton & Jericho later in the night

-Melina & Goldust def. Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix & Santino Marella

-CM Punk def. Intercontinental Champion William Regal by disqualification; Regal retains the Intercontinental Title

-JBL encouraged Shawn Michaels to turn on World Heavyweight Champion John Cena; Randy Orton set another challenge for Cody Rhodes and Sim Snuka

-World Tag Team Champions The Miz & John Morrison def. Rey Mysterio & Kofi Kingston; Mysterio and Kingston named as Royal Rumble participants

-Kelly Kelly def. Jillian; Kane to face Randy Orton the following week

-Cody Rhodes & Sim Snuka def. Cryme Tyme; Snuka taken out of the running for Randy Orton’s group

-Mr. McMahon to return to Raw in two weeks; Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix’s No. 1 fan banned from Raw

Tonight on Raw four more participants were announced in this years 2009 Royal Rumble. They are as follows Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, Kofi Kingston and Rey Mysterio.

-It’s the very first edition of Monday Night Raw in 2009 and CM Punk has the golden opportunity against a familiar rival. The Sraightedge Superstar faces Intercontinental Champion William Regal for the lustrous title, live on Raw.

-WWE is going to announce more Royal Rumble participants.

-WWE.com has posted the first qualified Royal Rumble participants in 2009. As you can see here (where you can see the updated participants) they are in no particular order Triple H, Big Show, Vladimir Kozlov, Shelton Benjamin and The Undertaker.

Diva Champ Maryse injury update:The new Divas Champion, who never met a mirror she did not like, Maryse, suffered a dislocated knee cap recently but isn’t expected to miss much ring time. Word hads it she will be missing the next two Smackdowns.

JR says the Rumble is the most difficult to announce:The Royal Rumble match is my favorite match of the entire PPV calendar but it is also the hardest to broadcast. It is long, ever changing with a new participant every 90 seconds or so, and doesn’t truly begin in earnest until all 30 men have entered. The first time I broadcast with Tazz was when he and I called a Rumble match a few years ago.

Number of Rumble Announcers: One has to assume that this year, six announcers will be used representing all three WWE brands which can resemble a multi-car crash or can be a lot of fun. -It was announced during Tuesday’s WWE Smackdown tapings that Jeff Hardy will defend the WWE Title against Edge at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.

-News outta Mexico are stating that Lucha Libre star Dos Caras Jr. will debut in the WWE at The Royal Rumble.

Outlasting five other femmes fatales in Raw’s Diva Battle Royal, Melina secured her opportunity to become a three-time holder of the gold when she faces Woman’s Champion Beth Phoenix at The Royal Rumble.

Tomorrow on Monday Night Raw it is announced on Direct TV.com that The 2009 Royal Rumble Participants will be announced on this Monday’s Night Raw.
