Raw Results 6/16 - $1 Million Last Week, $1 Million This Week, Another Million NEXT Week

Monday, June 16th, 2008

Raw begins when John Cena comes out and says that with the support of the fans, this is the best entertainment money can buy.

The best moments have been in the WWE, such as when Hogan picked up Andre, when Stone Cold whips some ass, and with a million dollars at hand, every seat in the arena is full.

HHH then comes down to the ring and warns Cena about getting involved in his matches, such as the one he had with Hardy last week. The two are getting ready to go at it when Vince comes out. He says that he feels lucky and ready to give away $1 Million dollars.

This week’s password is: Watch Raw And Win

McMahon has other plans tonight – Cena will have a street fight match with Umaga. HHH pipes in, “Don’t get hurt John”. Starting – NOW!

Match #1: Cena VS Umaga in a Street Fight – no DQ

Outside, Umaga drops Cena with a Samoan Drop on the catwalk. Umaga drags Cena to the corner of the ring and sets up a squash. Cena moves. Umaga throws the top part of the steel steps. Umaga picks up the steel steps and Cena grabs Umaga for the FU and hits it.

WINNER: John Cena

Was it just me, or did that not seem like a real street fight match?

McMahon draws for $125,000. Denzel Parker of Virginia Beach, VA. McMahon asks him what his favorite animal is – he answers that it’s a dog. McMahon makes him bark like a dog to get the money. WTF?

Summertime bikini beach blow-out, with your host: Charlie Haas

Maria, Eve Torres, Melina, Lena Yada, Jillian Hall, Maryse, and Leila parade in their bikinis.

WINNER: Maria

McMahon drawing for $100,000. Michael Leyva from Monroe, NC. Wins $100,000.

Hacksaw Jim Duggan comes out to help Vince give away more money. Duggan dials and no one is home! Vince leaves a message telling the person that they didn’t win $50,000 because they weren’t home.

Vince gets Jesse Jordan of Bethel, OH, who has a DX ringback. Jesse gives his best Hacksaw impersonation – “WOOOO”.

Match #2: Jeff Hardy VS Carlito

Carlito goes for a back stabber. Hardy counters with a Twist of Fate. Off the top rope, a Swan Ton Bomb for the win.

WINNER: Jeff Hardy

McMahon calls for another winner – Kyle Mathisen from Hoyt Lakes, MN. Vince asks Kyle to sing the National anthem. He wins $175,000.

Chris Jericho comes out and runs his mouth about how he feels about Shawn Michaels. He calls him out, but Flair comes out instead, and says that since he’s retired, they can’t fight in the ring, but that he can fight in the parking lot. Jericho heads into the parking lot after Flair, but slams into HHH.

HHH wants a reason to fight Jericho. HHH and Flair are talking when McMahon shows up and kicks Flair out of the building. Vince says that he’s interfered with his show enough, and makes a match of HHH VS Y2J tonight.

Match #3: Cryme Tyme VS Rhodes and Holly

Rhodes gets JTG for a 10 second roll up for the win right off the bat.

WINNER: Rhodes and Holly

Vince goes for another giveaway and gets Becky Carmen in Advance, NC. In honor of Ric Flair, being the 16 time world champion, Becky wins…$16.

Match #4: Paul Burchill and Katie Lea VS Mr. Kennedy and Mickie James

Mr. Kennedy spears Burchill through the ropes to the outside. Mickie jumps off the top rope and misses Katie Lea. Katie grabs Mickie’s hair and goes for a back breaker and a roll up.

WINNER: Paul Burchill and Katie Lea

Vince calls Alana Ayres of Westmont, IL. Vince asks her who the most handsome person on Raw is - she says he is. She wins $174,984. Vince also says he likes her taste in men.

Vince calls another winner - Peter Mauer of Bloomsville, NY. He wins $75,000.

Vince then says that next week, he’s going to give away another million on a special 3 hour Raw/WWE Draft that starts at 8 (which means another night of very few matches).

Vince calls Frank Turbeville in Hadden Township, NJ. He wins an incredible $300,000.

Match #5: HHH VS Y2J

Out comes Lance Cade, who assaults HHH with Y2J (WTF?). Cena then comes out and attacks Y2J (Another WTF?!). Cade helps out Jericho to take out Cena and HHH, who are left laying in the middle of the ring as the show ends.

Melina comes out with a vengeance and drives Beth’s face into the mat.

Vince is going for another call and Dustin Guy picks up the phone, gives the correct password, and wins $75,000.

Vince McMahon makes another call with WWE Superstar Charlie Haas by his side. Two calls and no answer and on the third try, the phone is busy, so Vince gets another number from Gabe from EPrize. Donna Rose answers the phone and gives the password to allow her to win $50,000. Vince tells Haas that if he kisses a Diva, Donna will win $100,000 instead. Maria comes out and he eagerly kisses her. Vince tells Haas that if he kisses another diva, he’ll give Donna another $25,000. Mae Young comes out and gives him the lip lock from hell! Donna Rose winds up winning $125,000 total.

Match #3: JBL VS John Cena with HHH at ringside

HHH calls Cena the “Rocky Balboa” of the WWE. JBL gives Cena the lariat from hell and goes for the pin. Cena puts leg on the rop
to stop the count. Frustrated, JBL goes to the announcers table and tears it apart. When he gets back into the ring, however,
Cena goes for the roll up.

WINNER: John Cena

Cena and HHH stand on the announcer’s table. HHH raises the belt and jumps down then trips Cena, making him fall onto the table. HHH walks away.

Vince comes back out and asks Lilian to stand up. He asks if her measurement is 38 – 24 – 36, which equals 98, so he’ll give away $98,000. Stephanie answers her phone and gives the correct password to win $98,000.

Chris Jericho’s highlight reel – HBK comes out wearing a “wife beater”. Y2J asks why HBK is a pathetic, terrible little worm. JBL low blows HBK because he believes that HBK lied to TV. Jericho smashes Michaels face into the TV monitor from the highlight reel. And thus, Jericho turns heel….

Match #4: Umaga and Snitsky VS Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly

Umaga spikes both Holly and then Rhodes for the count.

WINNER: Umaga and Snitsky

Out comes Ted Diabiase JR, who says that his first match will be a tag match with the partner of his choice against Rhodes and Holly for the WEW Tag Team Belt at Night of Champions.

Plug your ears, its WWE American Idol! Jillian Hall and Tervor Murdoch sing. Vince calls Sara and asks her, after she supplies the password, what she believes the performance is worth. He says its worth $2 and gives Sara the $2.

He calls again, giving Joshua Smith the chance to win $200,000. Smith has the right password and nets himself $200,000.

Match #5: Cryme Tyme VS Santino Marella and Carlito

Shad, big boot to the chest on Marella, then a side back slam for the count.

WINNER: Cryme Tyme

Official Raw Pre-View: Reel Interesting Night

Sunday, June 8th, 2008

raw6-9-08.jpg

When Raw rolls into Oakland, Calif., on Monday night, Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho has high hopes that Shawn Michaels will be there to join him on a special episode of the Highlight Reel.

In recent weeks, Y2J has been sending mixed signals. During his Judgment Day Match against Michaels, Jericho chomped at the notion of taking out The Showstopper. Then, at One Night Stand, Jericho willed Michaels on in his losing effort against Batista. And last week, Y2J even dedicated his match against JBL to a recovering Michaels.

What exactly does the Intercontinental Champion have in mind by inviting HBK onto the Highlight Reel? And exactly which Chris Jericho will show up?

On a more moneyed note, Mr. McMahon explained last week that he’s poised to give out $1 million of his own money to show his appreciation to loyal Raw viewers in McMahon’s Million Dollar Mania sweepstakes. Register and tune in for your chance to win a share of the Chairman’s loot.

Have you registered to win Mr. McMahon’s money yet? If not, what are you waiting for? Enter to win now!

In other Raw action, John Cena defeated Jeff Hardy last week and won an opportunity to face Triple H for the WWE Title at Night of Champions. In the lead up to the pay-per-view, how will these two opponents prove their dominance? And which of them will capture the momentum in the run-up to Night of Champions?

If all that weren’t enough, don’t forget the seismic shift that’s sure to occur in two weeks when WWE holds its brand-wide draft.

Official Raw Pre-view: Street Fight begins as McMahon’s Million Dollar Mania continues

Friday, June 6th, 2008

raw6-16-08.jpg

On Monday night, Raw will make itself at home in Salt Lake City, as WWE Champion Triple H and John Cena continue to circle one another like junkyard dogs, spoiling for their title match at Night of Champions. This week, Cena will face Umaga in a Street Fight. Surely The Game will be watching as his Night of Champions opponent meets the Samoan Bulldozer on Raw.

Just two weeks ago, Cena defeated Jeff Hardy to become the No. 1 contender. Last week saw Triple H sweep Cena’s legs out from under him after the Chain Gang Commander’s victory over JBL. Then, in the night’s main event between The Game and Jeff Hardy, Cena interfered, causing Triple H to lose by count-out. With less than two weeks before Night of Champions, will anything keep these two fierce competitors from annihilating one another? Will Cena’s Street Fight with Umaga affect his strategy going into Night of Champions?

An appearance by Shawn Michaels on Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel quickly turned ugly when Y2J attacked The Showstopper. Their rivalry had been building for the past few weeks as Jericho alternately accused HBK of faking an injury and then encouraged him in a match against Batista. What is the purpose of the mind games that the Intercontinental Champion is playing with Michaels, and how will Michaels react to being attacked last Monday night?

Also last week, World Tag Team Champions Hardcore Holly & Cody Rhodes suffered their second defeat in a row, this time at the hands of Umaga & Snitsky. While recovering after the match, the champs were again confronted by Raw’s newest Superstar, Ted DiBiase. The “simply priceless” DiBiase warned them that at Night of Champions, he and a partner of his choosing will prevail over the World Tag Team Champions. With the ongoing strife between Holly & Rhodes, will they be able to stand up to DiBiase and his mystery partner? And who will that partner turn out to be?

As temperatures run high on Raw, surely in the back of all the Superstars’ minds are thoughts of the impending WWE Draft. In less than two weeks, all Superstars from all brands will be eligible to be drafted to another show. Who will get selected to leave Raw and which of your favorite Superstars will begin appearing on Monday nights?

But, your biggest reason to tune into Raw this week is no doubt the continuation of McMahon’s Million Dollar Mania. The reports are all true: Mr. McMahon is giving away his own money. Just last week he gave away a cool $1 million, and he’s promised to do it all again this week. To get your share, all you have to do is register at WWE.com and tune in.

Hardy’s music plays and out comes Jeff Hardy, who says that he’s in line for the title as well. He believes that the fans want to see, for the first time ever, Jeff Hardy VS John Cena. Raw Preview 6/2

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

While the Superstars who participated in One Night Stand last night are licking their wounds from the most Extreme pay-per-view in WWE history, everyone else is eagerly awaiting more details on Mr. McMahon’s Million Dollar Mania. The WWE Chairman has promised to give more details on the giveaway on Monday Night Raw, including how you can win $1 million from Mr. McMahon himself. The Chairman has also scheduled a press conference for Tuesday afternoon, discussing the giveaway.

One person who is already a winner is Triple H, who successfully defended his WWE Championship against Randy Orton, but at great cost to their bodies. With both Superstars severely battered from their Last Man Standing Match, will the Legend Killer even be capable of rising again to compete against The Game?

Also at One Night Stand, John Cena defeated JBL in a First Blood Match, causing the Longhorn Loudmouth to bleed from the mouth after a brutal match. Will the self-made millionaire let his rivalry with Cena fall by the wayside after this defeat? While JBL had a bloody mouth to tend, Shawn Michaels was injured much more seriously, as he was literally unable to walk away from his Stretcher Match with Batista. HBK has been injured before, necessitating extended recovery time spent away from WWE. What, if anything, will we see from The Showstopper on Raw, and how will he react to having his show stopped by The Animal?

Santino Marella has an upcoming match with Jimmy Kimmel Live!’s Cousin Sal on SmackDown. But as explained exclusively on WWE Mobile on AT&T, the Braggadocios Italian Superstar has something special in store for Sal’s training partner, WWE Hall of Famer “Rowdy” Roddy Piper on Raw this week. What could Marella be planning for the living legend?

And in just three short weeks, on a special three-hour Monday Night Raw, the WWE Draft will take place. All Superstars, all Divas, and all announcers from all three brands will be eligible. Where will your favorite Superstars end up, and how will it affect Monday Night Raw?

For the answers to all these questions and the chance to win $1 million from the Chairman as part of Mr. McMahon’s Million Dollar Mania, be sure to tune in to WWE Monday Night Raw at 9/8 CT only on the USA Network.

Official Raw Pre-view: Soldiering On

Sunday, May 25th, 2008

raw5-26-08.jpg

Just 24 hours after Judgment Day, four blockbuster matches were announced for One Night Stand, the one night where the WWE goes extreme. Half of those matches came from the biggest upset of Monday night, when Randy Orton & JBL defeated WWE Champion Triple H & John Cena in a tag team competition, earning the right to challenge the The Game and the Chain Gang Soldier to singles matches with extreme stipulations of the challengers’ choosing.

JBL assured that his match will be as vicious as the self-proclaimed “wrestling god” can make it, by demanding a First Blood Match. Orton, however, will compete against Triple H for the WWE Championship in the same type of match in which he won the title last October: a Last Man Standing Match. Knowing the bad blood that still boils between these four competitors, what type of pre-battle tactics can we expect in the next two weeks leading up to One Night Stand?

Flowing out of the ongoing rivalry between Santino Marella and Hall of Famer “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, the cocky Italian Superstar ridiculed “Hot Rod” and his super-fan, Jimmy Kimmel’s Cousin Sal on Santino’s own version of Piper’s Pit. After Piper and Sal threw him from the ring, Marella challenged Cousin Sal to a match, which Piper promptly accepted on Sal’s behalf. When can we expect to see these two spicy Italians square off, and how might the kilted WWE Legend be involved in their confrontation?

Batista has a bone to pick with Shawn Michaels, and by defeating Chris Jericho on Raw last Monday, he earned the chance to take on The Showstopper at One Night Stand. The Animal is still angry about HBK faking a knee injury, but William Regal has assured that HBK and The Animal’s match will end with someone legitimately injured by making their contest a Stretcher Match. Shawn Michaels is a man who will do anything to win — how will he use the next two weeks to prepare for the raw power of The Animal?

Though much of the night’s talk was of One Night Stand on June 1, there was another shocking development Monday night. After being defeated by Mr. Kennedy in a Loser Gets Fired Match, William Regal has been relieved of his duties as General Manager of Raw. Regal has a successful wrestling career behind him, having been recently crowned King of the Ring, and even garnered praise from Mr. McMahon himself for his work as GM of Raw. Have we seen the last we see of this vicious British brawler? And who will step into his kingly shoes on the next Monday Night Raw?

For answers to these questions and more, tune in to Monday Night Raw at 9/8 CT on Memorial Day, only on USA Network!

Tonight’s Raw 5-19-08 is Haunted by Deceased Legend

Monday, May 19th, 2008

Tonight’s Raw will be held at the Kemper Arena in Kansas City, MO. The Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Mo. is one of the more famed arenas in the United States. It has held many memorable events, including several NCAA Final Four basketball games, the 1976 Republican National Convention, and a Paul McCartney concert the same year. But what the arena may also be hosting is a haunting. Deceased Legend Haunts Kemper Arena

Official Raw Pre-View: Judgment Passed

Monday, May 19th, 2008

raw5-19-08.jpg

At Judgment Day, WWE Champion Triple H retained his gold inside the steel cage. It seems like Randy Orton’s attempts to revive the “Age of Orton” and regain the WWE Championship fell short. Will Triple H be looking for a new contender to challenge him? Does Orton have plans of his own to get another title opportunity against The Game?

Shawn Michaels has been a hot topic ever since retiring Hall of Famer Ric Flair at WrestleMania XXIV. With his controversial win over Batista at Backlash and now another controversial victory over Chris Jericho at Judgment Day, HBK seems to be confirming everything The Animal and Y2J have been saying about him. Now, those two competitors - Jericho and Batista - will collide on Raw in an interbrand singles match. The winner meets Michaels at One Night Stand. Who will get their rematch with The Showstopper?

John Cena may have won at Judgment Day, but as JBL pointed out after the match, it was Cena, not JBL, that needed to be looked over in the trainer’s room after their match. Will Cena have a response to the Self-Made Millionaire’s post-match statement? Or will the punishment JBL inflicted on Cena force the Chain Gang commander to tend to his wounds for another couple of weeks?

After being interrupted by GM William Regal last week upon his return, Jeff Hardy defeated Umaga. Sunday night, Hardy answered MVP’s open challenge and made it clear that he was back with a purpose. Will Hardy continue his winning ways? Will he attempt to finish what he was saying last week before being interrupted by William Regal? Will Jeff feel any repercussions following his win over Umaga last week?

William Regal has been ruling with an iron fist as of late, much to the disgust of our fans and Superstars alike. From blackouts to 14-on-2 matches, Regal has not been afraid to wield his new sense of power with the utmost authority. One man who has not been afraid to lock horns with the Raw GM is Mr. Kennedy. Will the Green Bay loudmouth fall into line and pay Regal the respect he claims he deserves, or will Kennedy gain some respect of his own from the GM?

Mickie James was able to walk out of Judgment Day with her WWE Women’s Championship after pinning Melina. Unfortunately for her though, Beth Phoenix has been relentless in her pursuit of Mickie and the title – and will not stop until she succeeds. How will The Glamazon go about getting another Women’s Championship opportunity? Will Mickie James be able to fend off Phoenix again?

We’ll find out all the answers to these questions and the fallout from Judgment Day when Monday Night Raw airs live from Kansas City, Mo., at 9/8 CT on USA Network.

All hell breaks loose as Triple H comes out. Cena runs after JBL, while Orton and HHH are battling in the ring. A steel cage
suddenly descends from the ceiling, closing both Orton and HHH in it. HHH throws Orton to the edge of the cage and he falls out.

HHH scales the steel cage looking down on Orton as Raw goes off the air.
