WWE Draft- Titles Switch Brands???!!!!!

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

cena-batista-night-of-champions-2008.jpg

During the June 16th edition of Raw on The Score in Canada, host Glenn Schiller interviewed Vince McMahon. Here is a comment that Vince made on the show concerning the WWE Draft.

GS: You’re bringing back the WWE Draft, which is coming up next week on The Score. What was behind that decision?

WM: We don’t do that necessarily every year, but I think we will in the future. It shakes things up. It refreshens the product and we have some major moves planned. It’s a good thing. I think everyone looks forward to that because you don’t know where the superstars or your favorite ones are going or which ones are coming, which issues are resolved, which ones are left open, so it’s an exciting show.

Last night during the main event, J.R. and King said that no matter who gets drafted next week the matches at Night of Champions will still take place. With this little hint and Vincent Kennedy Mcmahon comment above. To me could this could mean Cena and Batista are switching brands. John Cena would win the title from Triple H, then proceeds to bring the title over to Smackdown. As Batista wins the World Title from Edge and then he too proceeds to go to Raw.

This being said , this could really stir the pot heavily in the WWE. Any Opinions..???

One’s Personal Opinion on Steroids..Good Read

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

I ran acroos this intersting article on one’s own personal take on steriods use. This person talks about personal use to oneself and otehrs famous and what is currenlty doing to society today…..

Before I go further let me say that I used steroids back in the 1980s as a bodybuilder and later as I started wrestling. In bodybuilding circles in that era …

Recently, I heard a movie critic on the radio giving his opinion of the latest Sylvester Stallone movie, Rambo. He hated the movie and said it was ridiculous watching a 61-year-old man all juiced up on steroids running around in a jungle war. Amazingly to me, as I thought about it, this was one of the first times that I’ve heard someone in the media come out and casually say the truth about a well known individual’s steroid use while doing their report.
I have to say it was very refreshing.

undertaker-edge.jpg
World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker vs. Edge

Where can one start. This feud has been going on since the dawn of time, yeah really long. Hopefully this pay per view, The Undertaker will take Edge out for good and help put another contender up for the title. Edge will lose and become a ‘good guy’ again. My predict is that The Undertaker will retian his title.

khali-bigshow.jpg
Big Show vs. The Great Khali

This one should eb a no brainer. rumor has it The Great Khali knees are not doing him any justice. The Punjab’n Giant might in need of surgery and with the news going aroung that Khali is returning to his homeland and yet another time he is returning to grace his country. Even when the Great Khali stomped the hell out of the Big Show awhile back..So maybe, expect The Big Show maybe injuring Khali and Khali getting the DQ for the win. Just a thought..
mvp-matthardy.jpg
United States Champion MVP vs. Matt Hardy

This match has yet too come, Finally this is going to happen. With Matt getting injured by MVP. Hardy is way over due for the title. I thinbk Vince is going to play with this a little bit to stretch Matt Wins a little bit. This might turn out to be a draw.
cena-jbl-orton-hhh.jpg
WWE Championship Fatal Four Way Elimination Match
John Cena, JBL, Randy Orton and Triple H

Holy crap..can this get any more complicated that it already is. When the hell did JBL get into the mix here. Why is JBL here. Could he get the upset and win over HHH, Orton and Cena just to prove apoint..
kane-chavo.jpg
ECW Champion Kane vs. Chavo Guerrero

Even though Chavo is an awesome wrestler and I respect him very much so, I think he does not have what it takes to be a champion for the people. This man can wrestler but his character is not right for champ. I think Kane will retain his title for a long time..
hbk-batista-refy2j.jpg
Batista vs. Shawn Michaels with guest referee Chris Jericho

Here is a train wreck waiting to happen. This story will be going on for at least 2 or even maybe 3 months to come. HBK retired Batista’s mentor, Ric Flair. Great storyline to get the crowd into it at least. But Y2J is the special Ref here. What would he have in store, as he truns heel. Maybe Ric Flair will interject here and take out Jericho and hopefully these two men would recover, but still fight this storyline out for awhile.
12-divas-match-backlash.jpg
12-Diva Tag Team Match

Witht he team of Mickie, Maria, Ashley, Michelle, Cherry & Kelly Kelly to face against The Glamazon, Melina, Jillian, Layla, Victoria & Natalya be one to reckon with. Expect an all out Babe Brawl…This is goingto have lots of T & A Action. Just for fun who care who wins, but if I had to pick one I will say, The Glamazons team…

Thanks for the read…Scooter

Mick’s Thoughts on Bret Harts Book

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Mick Foley, an award author has written his thoughts on Bret Harts book, My Real Life in the Cartoon World of Wrestling:

Brets Book

Brets Book Wow its been more than a month since I’ve written anything, after promising my thoughts on Bret Harts new book. Its difficult to explain but I seem to go through phases where writing feels exhilerating where I can literally write for twelve hours at a stretch followed by extended periods of no writing what so ever. Where even the thought of writing seems like the most ardouis task this side of watching a JimWayne Yang career retrospective. Yeah I know Wang is a great performer, but its time for me to put the Test and Al Snow jokes to rest, and I need a new go to guy and I’ve decided on Yang. I dont think he’ll mind, and it will give us something to talk about besides our mutual appreciation of adult film icon Christy Canyon.

Before I get to Bret’s book, I’d like to take a moment to thank everyone who helped make “The Mick Foley Wrestling Store” on ebay a success over the last several months. Everyone seemed happy withg their purchases, I was able to prove to me kids (no one’s going to want your old stuff dad” wrong and I was able homes for career articles that seemed destined to live out their lives lifetime in a cardboard boxes deep inside the Foley family closets. Unfortunatley thbough we will be closing down the store fro awhile atleast until fall.

Brets Book.
I think I’ve been holding back on my thoughts, because I was waiting for inspritaion to hit me, some burst of creative lightning. That would give my pen the power need to write to write the type of commentary that would do justice to Bret’s new book. Instead i’ll just do my best on this Southwest flight from Fay Island to Baltimore.

It’s a great book and a towering achievement. Without a doubt the most painstakingly thought out and most painfully sincere of any of the wrestling books. I enjoy most of the wrestling books that come out to some degree, probably because im fascinated by our business and feel that every individual in it has their own unique story to tell. But after a whole, the stoies seem to feel the same, especially the WWE chapters. Where most share hardworking wrestlers who love their families and their jobs, play it understandably safe.

Brets book stands out not only because he his story stands out as being unique even in a bizzare business, but because the story he tells is his own story in his own words. And because he cares so much about the story being told. Sure I like most of the books, but in most cases ( the Kevin Elliot Greenberg books exempted) the writers involved have a minimal emotional investment in their product. They spend a little time with the wrestler, change a few things, put the quotes into a narrative, make up a quote or two themsleves and presto. Weve got a servicable memoir on out hands.

I wondered why Bret felt the need to be so honest about so many specific details when a simple blanket admission of guilt would have seemed to be enough. But as I read on I realized that such brutal honesty served to solidify Bret’s credibilty, so that by the time the book reaches the Montreal screw job-a chapter I found as taught, tense and exciting as anything in any book I’ve found anywhere my trust in him was absolute.

I had hoped that the book would be available in the USA, and thought a deal through the WWEpublishingh would seem a perfect fit. Then I read it and realized it would probably be best if there was no literary collaberation between the two parties. To do so would mean that WWE would either put out a book that paints them quite often in an unflattering light, or that Bret agree to an editing process that would see his hefty tome reduced to ” wit and wisdom of Jimmy Wayne Yang size”.

Back in 1999 when I wrote “Have a nice day” I was under no delusion that the book was going to be kind of by seller. Of course I turned out to be wrong about that. But at the time of it writing, because I hadnt recieved any type of writers advance, and there was no expectation of sales. The books primary purpose seemed to be of a cathartic nature. Writing my story gave my career a sense of closure that most in my proffesion never get.

I hope Bret finds some closure. But I cant help but feel that hell face some resentment within his own family as a price for that closure. The written word stings in a way much more lasting that the spoken one. I should know, as not only was trhere some well documented tensions between myself and the nature boy due to our dueling documents. But a former friend of mine unnamed (and thus far for almost nine years, has kept that vow) never to speak to me after seeing her name in my book. And all idi was say she looked good in a white bikini. Brets words for several family members seem destined to create hard feelings. In a sense his honesty which is the readers gain, may turn out to be his loss. I hope im wrong.

I will try to put post some more thoughts in a few days. Hopefully, those few days wont turn into thirty. I’ll be writing a little bit about a great event I attended in Providence to benefit the survivors and families of that horrible Station club fire five years ago.

I will also be placing several personal items up for sale on the “Mick Foley Wrestling Store” on ebay where all of the money (except for postage) will go ti charity. Make sure to order the store closes on March 30th.

cena_orton.jpg
John Cena vs. Randy Orton (WWE Championship Match)

Even thou Cena is the choice for the win, but I have to say Randy orton is goingto pull this one out. Because I think this match has no stipulations or even a NO DQ policy. Lets this ride until Wrestlemania.

Rey Mysterio vs. Edge (World Heavyweight Championship Match)

Rey Mysterio is on the injured list due to a torn bicep from his Santiago, Chiule Tour down WAY south. as of right nowe don’t know if Rey is going ot wrestle or not.

raw_chamber.jpg
Raw Elimination Chamber

With what these men have to do, I’d say its between Triple H and Jeff Hardy for the covenant win. HBK is going ot wrestle Flair at Wrestlemania for his career ending match and the others don’t have the Champ persona that WWE is looking for just yet.

smackdown_chamber.jpg
SmackDown/ECW Elimination Chamber

The only thing I can say is Undertaker and /or Batista. I am not saying hte other guys have a right to wear the title but not as what is happening now.

But is Batista going to win at NO-Way_Out. Undertaker going to win the title from him at Wrestlemania 24 to make his record 15-0? 16-0?

chavo_punk.jpg
ECW Champion Chavo Guerrero vs. CM Punk

Chavo just won the title from Punk with the help of his commrade and fellow amigo, Edge with the Edge-heads to boot. But I feel Chavo will retain the title to help further his title reign.

Do you actually think that Mr. Kennedy is going to retire the 16 time World Heavy weight Champ?

Cena Champ at NO_Way_Out, “maybe/maybe not”

Friday, February 1st, 2008

cena_orton_no_way_out.jpg

Who is the real WWE Champion?

As of right now WWE.com has an article of who will be champ at the next pay per view. But Vince wants every penny of his dollar.

What if Cena lost at No_Way_Out, either by DQ or interference.

This being said from the Royal Rumble that the winner of the Rumble match is guaranteed for a shot at the title in Wrestlemania. Cena has a double chance for the title. To make the match at Wrestlemania even more interesting, the Elimination Chamber match is set for No_Way_Out also. The winner of that match will face his opponents at Wrestemania as well.

Could this bring in a “triple threat match” for Wrestlemania? Or what does Vince have up his “evil” sleeve, one can only know.

Article from WWE.com:

If you ask John Cena, he would tell you that he is the true “Champ” – after all, he never lost his title in the middle of the ring. An attack by current WWE kingpin Randy Orton in late September left him with a torn pectoral muscle that forced him to relinquish the WWE Championship and sidelined him for four months.

Orton, of course, sees things differently. He says he took Cena out of the game, then claimed the WWE Championship (which Orton believes is his birthright) and has cemented his hold as the best in the industry by defeating greats such as Triple H, Shawn Michaels and Jeff Hardy in recent months. However, Orton hasn’t defeated one person in the ring – Cena.

On Feb. 17 at No Way Out, Cena and Orton will battle and our fans will find out who is the true WWE Champion. The stakes couldn’t be greater: One Superstar will leave with the gold and coveted spot in the main event at WrestleMania XXIV in Orlando, Fla. The other will leave empty-handed and out of the most prized opportunity in sports-entertainment.

It’s Personal: Two Superstars With Something to Prove
For Cena, this matchup is personal on so many levels. At the time of his injury last September, he was in a heated war with Orton that revolved around not just the WWE Championship, but the Legend Killer’s repeated attacks on his father. Because of Orton, Cena lost not only his championship but almost his career.

Doctors predicted that Cena’s injury would keep him out for up to a year, and that he would sit at home and watch Orton walk around with his title. He couldn’t stand seeing Orton with the WWE Championship he cherished. That’s why he trained feverishly and came back just four months after his injury, won the Royal Rumble Match and earned an opportunity at the WWE Championship. That’s why he couldn’t wait until WrestleMania to get his crack at Orton. Cena wanted to take back the championship he believed was rightfully his as soon as he could – at No Way Out.

Orton, meanwhile, wants to silence his doubters once and for all. He wants to eliminate Cena and prove that he is truly a “one-man dynasty.” Orton believes that Cena is not fully-healed from his injury and wants to take advantage of a “hot-headed” Cena. The Legend Killer loves the WWE Championship more than life itself; he believes it is his destiny. Orton believes defeating Cena in the middle of the ring at No Way Out would cement his legacy and clear his path to WrestleMania.

Only one man can emerge from No Way Out as WWE Champion and go to the main event at WrestleMania XXIV. Who will emerge victorious when John Cena and Randy Orton gamble for it all in Las Vegas? The only way to find out is to check out No Way Out, live on pay-per-view on Feb. 17.

Royal Rumble ..MyThoughts, All but 5 Slots Remain

Randy Orton vs. Jeff Hardy (WWE Championship Match)

With this being the Royal Rumble Randu Orton will retain his title and Jeff will be hanged out to dry. Hardy by all means should win tonight but the outcome is grim for this high flyer, but expect a rematch??!!!

Rey Mysterio vs. Edge (World Heavyweight Championship Match)

With this hype of Rey Mysterio this match has got to get the honors it deserves. Edge has won this title way too many times and under his own circumstances. unfortunatly Edge will remain the Champ. Mysterio will have rhis rematch.

United States Champion MVP vs. Ric Flair (Career Threatening Match)

Do you actually think Ric Flair will end his career ending match with MVP..NO. Flair will remain in the WWE for now as a wrestler and not retire just yet. This man will all his knowings and beliefs need to go out with a Bang.
Chris Jericho vs. JBL

What happened to all the YJ2 hype going in the WWE? I know where it is, in JBL’s back pocket..”smile”. With that little tid bit of infor Jericho is going to mop up the floor and send JBL back to where he belongs, on Wall Street where nobody can stand him.

The Royal Rumble Match

The Miz
Shelton Benjamin
Big Daddy V
Tommy Dreamer
CM Punk- CM Punk qualified yesterday from the Providence House show. CM Punk won his slot in the rumble when he defeated Chavo Guererro, same man he lost the title to with Edge’s help.

This one is going to be a hard one, but if I had to chose I beileve one of the 5 slots that are empty and that is goingto get filled. One of the participants will win the Rumble. Could this be the sign of the Paul Wights, The Big Shows return.

Ultimate Warrior Looking for Another 15 Minutes

warrior.jpg

Heath Ledger wasn’t a wrestler, but he’s earned the contempt of one. Today the Ultimate Warrior went on a rampage about Heath’s death, claiming that the actor killed himself and that now his daughter is better off because of it. He calls Heath “Leather Ledger” and calls Brokeback Mountain “Bendover Brokeback”. Now, I’m not a fan of the movie (I’ve avoided seeing it), but I recognize that Heath is an actor, and do not condone anything that the Ultimate Warrior said.

To see video og warrior on Ledger, click here.

Here is the post from his blog:

In the interest of full disclosure, I must tell you I have watched Brokeback Mountain no less than 45 times and I own the Limited Edition DVD, signed by Willie Nelson a short time after he wrote that queer cowboy song as a tribute to the courage of the producers and actors who broke such incredible creative ground when they made their agenda-less movie. Serious. Until I saw Bendover Brokeback, Braveheart was my favorite movie. But the love scenes of Brokeback sucked me right in and I had no choice but to give myself over to the passion of its wide open range, if you get my drift. Such courage this young man and his collaegues have. Reminds me of the courage of classic movie stars, where during the War they enlisted and flew bomber planes and fought on frontlines, then came back and picked up their lives and careers right where they left off, without anti-American sentiment, whining and complaining, or self-destructive self indulgence. I’m equally inspired.

Apparently, Leather Hedger had sleeping troubles and anxiety and dealt with terrible mood swings. So do soldiers but they don’t self-destructively f*** up their lives. In fact, they don’t sleep, handle anxiety and mood swings while dealing with whether or not they might at any moment lose their life. And they do this all the while they are dangerously protecting the freedom of others to f*** up their own. By the way, how many 28 (or older or younger) year old soldiers met their death yesterday? It’s not easy to find out. None of them made the headlines of any news.

By today’s standard, though, I do have to agree that he was a great father. Perhaps even greater then the father of the year, Hulk Hogan. After all, Leather Hedger did what it took to kill himself. His kid is without a father, yes, but the negative influence is now removed and his own child has the chance for a full recovery. Hogan, on the other hand, won’t go quite that far. He insists on sticking around to keep further ruining, and profiting off of, the parentally mismanaged lives of his own children.

It is sad and tragic … that we don’t demand attention be paid to greater things.

Yeah - greater things - like the fact that under all the paint and makeup, the Ultimate Warrior is an asshole…

Bret Hart Book Review - Pt 2

Monday, December 24th, 2007

Alright, it’s been awhile, and I actually finished the book weeks ago, but the holidays, birthdays, and work overwhelmed me and I find today the first day I’ve been able to sit down and write my thoughts on Bret’s book. For part 1 of the review, go here

hitman-book-cover-large.jpg

In reality, I actually had to cool down a bit before I was able to think objectively about the book. When I first finished reading it all I could think was, “WTF?” I was actually upset – not FOR Bret, but AT Bret. Let me explain a bit…

When I left off, Bret had just started wrestling for the WWE – or rather, the WWF. He had met some great legends, such as Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant, and he had married (and cheated on…numerous times) his wife Julie.

The book goes on and Bret slowly (and I mean VERY slowly) moves up the ranks in the WWF. He complains quite a bit about some of the wrestlers but in general he seems to love his job. Slowly but surely he starts getting paid more and his outlook is generally good. He slams on Ric Flair quite a bit (at one point even talking about how they had a huge party and Vince himself pissed on Flair’s hotel bed…Flair never saw it) but even shortly after he started working there seems to think that he knew more than a lot of them. After all, he did most of the booking for his father’s wrestling promotion, so he feels that a lot of the matches are messed up in the WWE. Immediately after he started working for the WWF (in his mind, anyway), he says that his family started trying to call in favors. And, to hear him tell it, he did everything he could to get them positions in the WWF – positions that, according to Bret, they kept losing because they screwed up.

The story, really, kind of nauseated me. It was nice hearing about some of the great things they did, like when they prayed at the wall in India, and about how close he and Owen were – I call that Bret the “good” Bret. There is, however, the whiney Bret. The Bret that swears he gets screwed over all the time…the Bret that would probably exclaim, “nobody likes me, everybody hates me, guess I’ll go eat worms”, especially when it comes to his family. Unfortunately I saw much more of the whiney Bret than I did of the Good Bret.

Like how he consistently calls Julie in the story and then gets frustrated when he doesn’t understand why she’s upset with him – so he goes out and drowns his sorrow in some willing, soft woman. Yeah – THAT makes sense.

Another thing to look out for: the mysterious disappearing wrestlers. That probably wasn’t a good description, so let me tell you what I mean: there are a number of times where things happen that are against Bret, and there IS a witness…only those witnesses are no longer with us. For instance, there was a story about Davey Boy Smith, Bret’s brother-in-law. Bret talks about how Davey Boy had a problem with drugs and alcohol. According to Bret, one night the two were destined to have a huge match, but Davey Boy was messed up. Bret says, “don’t worry Davey, I’ll carry you”, and works his butt off to make the match look amazing. Davey later gets all the credit for the match, even though Bret is the one that “supposedly” was responsible for the match turning out great. There’s no one to dispute this, however, as Davey Boy passed away awhile ago. A few different times this occurs, with Bret saying something that happens, but the witnesses are no longer alive.

And now let’s move on to the Montreal Screwjob. Lots of people believe that the screwjob started a month before when Bret went off on Vince in Calgary. People that have researched the situation know, however, that the tirade Bret goes on was planned by Vince and Bret. The Screwjob, however, was not.

I’ll let you read about what happens on your own, but I need to tell you what I think: after reading everything that Bret has to say, and seeing how many times the man was promised things that were never delivered, I blame the Screwjob mainly on Bret! Try thinking about it like this: say you’re at a party and your drink is empty. You’re really thirsty and the host notices. He comes over to you and promises you a drink if you can just hold on a moment. You wait for an hour and finally your glass is filled….half way. Then, a few minutes later, it’s spilled by the same host, who then promises you another drink. Another hour later you get a drink…ect. Now, would you just keep standing there waiting for the drink, or would you eventually walk into the kitchen and get your own drink?

The story Bret tells is one of a man who was promised much but given little, yet he stays with the WWF even though WCW offers him an excellent salary, fewer days on the road, and even INSURANCE! Right before the Screwjob, Eric Bischoff had a contract made up for Bret – one he helped to create. Bret, however, says “loyal” to Vince and winds up sorry a few months later. Yes, being loyal is a virtue, but not when you are not being respected or taken care of the way you should be.

And neither Scott nor I can ever look at Shawn Michaels in the same light again. It has been suggested that Shawn and Hunter helped Vince to create the Screwjob. There’s no proof of that in the book, but there is proof of Shawn sitting in the locker room bawling like a baby…we have both lost any respect we had for Shawn Michaels.

Owen’s death was not as difficult to read about as I thought it would be. I expected it to be filled with emotion: anger, sadness, frustration, ect. It wasn’t. Like most things in the book, Bret turned it into an “everybody hates me” tirade. He talks about how Owen’s widow, Martha, asked the family not to speak to the media, but that his sisters did. According to Bret, the whole family thought that he was being too hard on Vince, yet he was the only one who was “following orders”, as always.

I truly don’t care for this book. It is a good peek into how hard of a life being a wrestler is, but it’s difficult to feel pity for Bret when he made the huge amount of money he made, chose his career, and let himself be screwed over time and time again. I found myself being more upset for Julie and the kids (he spent TWO Christmas’ with them during his wrestling career…two..) than I did for Bret. I pitied Owen’s widow and children more than I did Bret. Before this book, Bret’s career was shrouded in mystery to me. Now, however, Bret’s career is not a mystery – yet once again, I wish it was, as the reality is much more boring and cold.

It does not look like WWE will get the United States rights to Bret Hart’s autobiography. Published by Random House for the Canadian release, the book was number one amongst all books in Canada for two weeks and fell to number two in its third week out. The highly acclaimed book is the first ever wrestling book that will be nominated for a mainstream book award.

Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

WWE’s rocky relationship with Bret Hart has taken yet another bad turn. The two sides had been negotiating an agreement for the publishing rights to Bret Hart’s autobiography in the United States. Those negotiations have fallen through and Bret will be shopping the book elsewhere.

According to Dave Meltzer, Bret had a verbal agreement saying that the company would not change one word. When he was given the contract to sign, the terms were completely different than what was previously agreed upon. WWE demanded final say on anything they found objectionable. Bret was told that 400 of the book’s 533 pages would need to be changed, which was a deal breaker.

Raw’s Greatest Superstar in History is…..

Wednesday, December 5th, 2007

WWE has had many great superstars travel through the curtains of the titantron. Many has walked down the ramp to the squared circle. Entering th ring to see who would turn out to best the best.

You have wrestling greats such as Yokozuna, Curt Hennig ” Mr.Perfect”, Junk Yard Dog, The Fabulous Moolah, The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Bret “The Hitman” Hart, Owen Hart the list just goes on and on. Choosing the greatest wrestler in Raw history can not be an easy task, But Vincent Kennedy McMahon will take on the task.

stephvince.jpg

Stephanie coming out late on Monday Night Raw giving her advise to her father, Vince. Saying for him not to go to the Raw 15th Ann. Special coming up this Monday. Stephanie told her father that he is going to get beaten up by wrestlers that despies him ( hell thats almost everyone there, probably is everyone).

Vince says that any wrestlers that has a problem with him coming out on his show can go straight to hell.

I believe Vince will choose the wrestler below as “Raws’ Greatest wrestler in History”.

Bret Hart - My Life in the Cartoon World of Wrestling - Partial Review - Pt. 1

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

hitman-book-cover-large.jpg

This is Scooter’s wife, Randi - I’m the one reading and doing the review on Bret Hart’s autobiography. Scooter will be reading it too, but it takes him a lot longer to get through a book than it does me (the man is always busy!). Anyway, I figured I’d give a partial review because it’s going to take me awhile to get through the book.

DISCLAIMER: I am a wrestling fan - there are some wrestlers that I love, and some that I don’t. I will be honest and say that I don’t know all of the finishing moves and I also don’t know who every single wrestler has been since the beginning of time, but I do know a lot about the world of wrestling from my research and I had absolutely NO strong feelings either way about Bret Hart going into the reading of this book, so this is a thoroughly impartial review

Let’s stat with how big this book is. I am a very avid reader and usually have a book finished in less then three days. I started reading this on Monday, however, and I am only a quarter of the way through it. This book tricks you, because it is 553 pages long, which is a respectable amount for any book to be, but the words are so tiny that, should the print have been normal sized, the book would have easily reached over 1,000 pages. I can only guess that the publishers figured people wouldn’t buy the book if it was that long, so they made the print smaller to compensate.

In the beginning, Bret gives readers a very good look into what life in the Hart household is like. He talks about not being able to get any homework done because of the noise, and of Stu throwing one of his kids down the stairs when he started a fire in the attic. He talks about how he got to go to his first wrestling match when he was 4, and how his first job was handing out programs.

On to Nick Hogan: TMZ is reporting that John Graziano is being moved to a veteran’s hospital instead of staying at Bayfront Medical Center. Graziano has been at Bayfront Medical Center since the accident two months ago. George Tragos, the lawyer of John’s mother, has stated that Graziano is being moved to the James A. Haley VA Hospital in Tampa at the request of the Veteran’s administration due to cost reasons.

Okay - time to stick my nose in - they’re moving Graziano due to COST reasons. Has the Hogan family offered to pay for his medical necessities since their son was the one driving the vehicle that caused the crash? If I was John’s parent, I would demand that the bills get taken care of, or supplemented, by the Hogan family, so that John can get the best care possible.

WWE on Family Feud

Tuesday, November 6th, 2007

I caught the Family Feud special today that aired on Monday. It was funny to see King Booker and Queen Sharmell on the Feud when they’re no longer a part of the WWE family. Here are a few of my observations:

- Mr. Kennedy is actually fairly intelligent.
- Queen Sharmell has a nice voice when she’s not screeching “KING BOOKA”.
- Maria is a dumb blonde masquerading as a red-head.
- Candice Michelle is hot - oh yeah, and she’s pretty smart too.
- Rick Flair can still “WOOO” a crowd.
- John O’Hurley thinks he’s halarious. He’s not.

It was a pretty good show. I haven’t watched the next episode yet (thank God for DVR’s), but I’ll be sure to let you know what I think of it! Meanwhile, check out this blast from the past - the WWF stars vs. Body Builders!!

Not the Most Flattering Photo

Monday, October 29th, 2007

Chyna was seen this weekend leaving a Halloween party. I’ve got to say that, unfortunately, this is not the most flattering photo of this powerhouse former wrestler.
