During the June 16th edition of Raw on The Score in Canada, host Glenn Schiller interviewed Vince McMahon. Here is a comment that Vince made on the show concerning the WWE Draft.
GS: You’re bringing back the WWE Draft, which is coming up next week on The Score. What was behind that decision?
WM: We don’t do that necessarily every year, but I think we will in the future. It shakes things up. It refreshens the product and we have some major moves planned. It’s a good thing. I think everyone looks forward to that because you don’t know where the superstars or your favorite ones are going or which ones are coming, which issues are resolved, which ones are left open, so it’s an exciting show.
Last night during the main event, J.R. and King said that no matter who gets drafted next week the matches at Night of Champions will still take place. With this little hint and Vincent Kennedy Mcmahon comment above. To me could this could mean Cena and Batista are switching brands. John Cena would win the title from Triple H, then proceeds to bring the title over to Smackdown. As Batista wins the World Title from Edge and then he too proceeds to go to Raw.
This being said , this could really stir the pot heavily in the WWE. Any Opinions..???
WWE has added an woman’s title match to Night of Champions pay per view. Here as follows:
WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James vs. Katie Lea Burchill

Shinedown’s ‘Devour’: The official theme of Night of Champions
From WWE Magazine
July 2008 issue, on sale now
Meet Shinedown’s lead singer, Brent Smith, the gritty voice behind “Devour,” this year’s Night of Champions theme song. (LISTEN)
So, you’re a big WWE fan?
Oh yeah. I grew up watching wrestling. I started tuning in back in the days of Jake the Snake, Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan. I loved watching all the Superstars, although my favorite has to be Ultimate Warrior. And, of course, when Undertaker came on the scene, I was all about him.
What’s your favorite WWE memory?
I know everyone says this, but it has to be watching Hogan bodyslam Andre the Giant at WrestleMania III. My dad ordered the pay-per-view and let me watch it with him, which was a big deal. As a kid, that match was the one I always remembered.
Your song “Devour” will be the theme for Night of Champions. Psyched?
Man, it’s awesome. WWE has a big pulse, so it needs music that has a heartbeat – intense and aggressive. The fact that our music was chosen means it’s got all these qualities, which is exactly what we’re going for.
What can your fans expect from your new album, The Sound of Madness?
It sounds like nothing we’ve ever done before, and it’s the most aggressive and biggest sounding record we’ve done. Sonically, I wanted to push the envelope as far as we could. Basically, what I told our producers was, “When I’m dead and gone, I want people to remember that this was an album that needed to be made, that the world said it needed to be done.” And I think that it is.
If WWE signed you to a $1 million wrestling contract, what would your name be?
I’d be The Reverend, not because I’m religious, but because everyone calls me that when I’m performing. I always make sure the crowd walks out of the arena feeling motivated and positive. So I’d have to wear the spandex version of what a Reverend wears.
And your finisher?
Oh dang, I think I’d have to go with the Holy Ghost Piledriver!
Album Review
Shinedown
The Sound Of Madness
(Atlantic)
Shinedown’s third album, The Sound Of Madness, is a big, brash, chest-thumping rock throwdown that, at its best, approximates what Guns N’ Roses or Metallica might’ve sounded like had they never grown old and sad. Guitars thrash and stomp through the title track and the snarling “Sin With A Grin,” while “Devour” and “The Crow & The Butterfly” channel Use Your Illusion-era GNR in all their unapologetic grandeur. The power ballads, particularly “What A Shame,” veer disappointingly toward the Nickelback end of the spectrum, and “Call Me” suggests a dangerous admiration for those pretentious a-holes Live, but the low moments are relatively fleeting, redeemed soon enough by a ferocious riff, the crash of drums or frontman Brent Smith’s howl.
Guest Music Editor Shannon Moore says:“I’ve only listened to Shinedown a bit, but I really like what I’ve heard. When they covered Skynyrd’s ‘Simple Man’ a few years ago, I thought they got it right on.”

Newest match made for night of Champions:
United States Champion Matt Hardy vs. Chavo Guerrero
WWE has posted this match-up for Night of Champions. If you noticed when yopu click on Ted Dibiase’s name is goes directly to Dh Smith. Last we say of Smith when he got an beaten from JBl on 5/5 on Raw.
-Since December of last year, the team of Hardcore Holly & Cody Rhodes has been a well-oiled machine, fighting off all who have dared to challenge them for the World Tag Team Championship. At Night of Champions they’ll have to defend their titles once again, but this time against Ted DiBiase, a Superstar they’ve never faced, and his partner, who has yet to be revealed.
Though the experienced veteran and second-generation Superstar have worked well together after an initial rivalry, recent weeks have seen their relationship begin to unravel, with their lack of synergy having cost them multiple non-title matches. Holly has blamed their losing streak on Rhodes not following his lead as the veteran of the team, and it has led to arguments between the two Superstars.
The champions’ strife began around the same time as the debut of DiBiase, son of “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase. The WWE Legend introduced his son as Raw’s newest Superstar, with the third-generation Superstar going on to claim that he planned on obtaining championship gold in his very first match against Holly & Rhodes at Night of Champions, beside a partner of his choice.
Watching the champions’ matches week after week, Ted DiBiase has noted that Holly & Rhodes aren’t on the same page. Will they be able to once again work together to successfully defend the World Tag Team Championship? And who will Ted DiBiase choose to stand by him in this title opportunity?
Before the poster contained Undertaker-World Heavyweight Champ, MVP- United States Chapion, Kane-ECW Champ, Chris Jericho-Intercontinental Champ, Mickie James- Womans WWE Champ and Triple H WWE Champ.
Now that Undertaker has lost the belt and waiting for his triumpant return the poster is now looking like this….

Hardy’s music plays and out comes Jeff Hardy, who says that he’s in line for the title as well. He believes that the fans want to see, for the first time ever, Jeff Hardy VS John Cena. McMahon comes on the Titontron and announces it will be Cena VS Hardy and the winner will take on HHH at the Night of Champions.
