Friday, May 1st, 2009

-WWE developmental promotion Florida Championship Wrestling is holding tryouts today at the training center in Tampa, Florida. The promotion is charging $1,000 for independent wrestlers who signed up for what is billed as a “talent evaluation clinic.” The event is being run by FCW head Steve Keirn, and trainers Tom Prichard, Billy Kidman, and Norman Smiley.

-Tiffany shouldn’t get too comfortable with her role as Interim ECW General Manager as there is already talk of replacing her in the near future. A lot will hinge on what Tommy Dreamer decides to do.

His is contract is legitimately expiring in a few months and there is talk of making him the General Manager of ECW should he decide to re-sign with the company.

Internally, the feeling is that she isn’t projecting well enough in her role as a result of her poor delivery on the mic.

-F4WOnline.com reports Vince McMahon currently owns 60% of WWE stock, which as of last weekend, would have been worth about $478 million.

Vince an “Work-A-Holic”, WrestleMania 4:26 PM Update

Sunday, April 5th, 2009

vince-mcmahon-banner

Sports radio got an brief interview with Smackdown announcer Jim Ross. Here is an excerpt from it:

Why has Vince McMahon been able to be successful in pro wrestling when others have failed?

“He’s a workaholic. He has no hobbies. He doesn’t play golf, he doesn’t bet the horses, he doesn’t watch Nascar. He is strictly business. He’s a little like Jerry Jones, a little like Steinbrenner…when Steinbrenner was sane. He’s a hands-on guys. Has great vision. He’s a real marketer and I think that’s what he’s done, market a brand and created a brand of a product that had been around forever and kind of re-invented it.” Read the full interview here.

“UPDATE: 4:26 p.m. ET: I just received word that tonight’s Unified WWE Tag Team Championship Lumberjack Match between The Colons and The Miz & John Morrison will open tonight’s WrestleMania, as an exclusive pre-show match that will only be seen on the WrestleMania DVD.

Vince McMahon’s Reaction to Monday Night Raw Scripted Leaked Online

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

vincemcmahon

As expected, Vince McMahon was infuriated over the script for a recent edition of Raw (March 2, 2009) leaking online. One source believes John Carle, a creative team writer who was let go just before the script hit the net, is responsible for the sheets going online.

“No coincidence that it’s published the same day [creative team member] John Carle is dropped and that apparently has gotten back to Stephanie and Vince,” the source said. “Apparently, they had creative sign some absurdly one-sided addendum in late 2007 where if you do something like this after being terminated, they have all sorts of legal action against you. Given the timing and circumstances, he shouldn’t be surprised to get a nice legal notice from Stamford shortly. Vince is on a warpath and was mega hot over this so I’m thinking someone is going to be made a legal example of.”

It should be noted that Carle was not the only member of the creative team fired three weeks ago as another individual was let go as well, although we don’t have his name. As a result, the source believes the person who leaked the script felt safe to leak it as it would be hard to pinpoint one guilty party.

For those wondering why more scripts haven’t leaked online, it is because the performers doesn’t actually get to handle them for the most part, as the scripts go to the producers of a segment, who then go over the script with the talent.

Another source added his take on the script: “So I took at look at the RAW script that was leaked. That is the real deal — and from the looks of it was an early draft (most likely PRE-Agent meeting). The show hasn’t been timed yet (the time for the breaks are in but not the actual timing of the show). The producers are in, but not the writer assignments. This might have even been the draft that was brought on the plane for Vince to review before RAW. It’s funny to look at the amount of crap that has been jammed into those scripts over the years. The live attendance box was added so they can know what the last two dates at the building. The side boxes next to the matches are the announcer notes (that announcers hated and would make fun of). The ‘not working’ list allows them to see who they ‘missed’ on not putting on the show. As you can see, the amount of detail that goes into the promos that are written and why these talents have not grown at that art of promos. Though this is what demanded of the creative team to write for Vince. A script can not be turned in without that detail. It’s become so rigid a process.”

Reasons for Vince’s Return to RAW

Monday, January 19th, 2009

Ruminating on Mr. McMahon’s return

The following reason on Vince McMahon’s return as as follows, which as posted on WWE.com:

The past week has seen some shocking news reverberate throughout the WWE Universe: Mr. McMahon is coming back to Monday Night Raw. As Chris Jericho told a stunned Stephanie McMahon on the Jan. 5 edition of Raw, in just two short weeks the Chairman of WWE will be making his return after more than six months away.

Jericho strongly implied that Mr. McMahon’s return could have something to do with the way his daughter has been running Raw, but given the sly, cagey nature of the first-ever Undisputed World Champion, it’s uncertain whether this can be taken at face-value. With this week’s Raw fast approaching, WWE.com took the opportunity to compile a list of some possible reasons behind Mr. McMahon’s return.

Starting McMahon’s Million Dollar Mania back up

The tragic accident that injured Mr. McMahon took place on June 23, 2008, which was not only the night of the 2008 WWE Draft, but was also smack-dab in the middle of McMahon’s Million Dollar Mania. With the Chairman incapacitated for an undetermined amount of time, the giveaway (which saw McMahon give away $1 million on each episode of Raw), was suspended indefinitely. Now, with economies tanking and businesses going under worldwide, a McMahon-funded economics stimulus package could be just what the doctor ordered.

WrestleMania 25 announcement

This March will see the WWE Universe celebrating a quarter-century of the Grandest Stage of Them All, WrestleMania. For such an auspicious event, it’d be a surprise not to see Mr. McMahon himself front and center. But what type of role can we expect him to play? We might see another billionaire give the Chairman a haircut; perhaps a Mohawk from Sir Richard Branson, or Bill Gates crafted dreadlocks? Or, after the success of WrestleMania XXIV’s historic bout between Big Show and Floyd Mayweather, maybe it’s Mr. McMahon’s turn to box The World’s Largest Athlete …

Formal retirement

The opposite, however, could also be possible. After years spent building up and promoting WWE, Mr. McMahon’s latest injury could be the nail in the coffin of a decades-spanning career in the entertainment industry. The Chairman is no stranger to injury, having competed in his share of brutal matches (even capturing the WWE and ECW titles), but the accident at the 2008 WWE Draft was something else entirely, seeing the set collapse on McMahon and putting him out of commission for more than six months. During that time, the McMahon family kept their private business closely guarded, but the extent of Mr. McMahon’s injuries may well have been more severe than the WWE Universe suspected, possibly resulting in his retirement.

New championship introduction

Mr. McMahon’s return could be much less dire in nature, however, as the Chairman’s propensity to “shake things up” is well-documented. In particular, it has been years since a new championship was brought into the picture. With WWE’s two tag team titles currently held by members of SmackDown and ECW, now could be the perfect time to introduce a third tag title to be defended on Raw. Or, perhaps even more exciting, Mr. McMahon could reintroduce the fan-favorite Cruiserweight Championship, but this time making the title exclusive to the Raw brand.

Rubbing salt in Shawn Michaels’ wounds

It’s also possible that recent events on Raw have acted to draw Mr. McMahon back into the spotlight. The past weeks have seen Shawn Michaels lower himself to working for JBL due to some financial dire straights. Given the Chairman’s history with HBK and his diabolical nature, it wouldn’t be surprising to find out that Mr. McMahon is nursing a serious cause of schadenfreude. And if the Chairman is hoping to rub The Showstopper’s face in his current situation, what better place to do it than in Chicago, where Michaels beat McMahon in a No Holds Barred Match at WrestleMania 22?

Meeting Dolph Ziggler

Or, in spite of all of our earth-shattering predictions, Mr. McMahon could be returning to Monday nights for something relatively simple. Ever since appearing on the program, Dolph Ziggler has stalked the locker room area, introducing himself to Superstars and Divas in a typically smarmy manner. With the Chairman away for more than six months, perhaps he’s a little miffed that he’s near the only person in WWE who hasn’t been subjected to the young Superstar’s relentless repetition of “Hi, I’m Dolph Ziggler.”

Joining Randy Orton’s new group

Young third-generation Superstar Randy Orton has been hard at work lately putting together a group of similarly minded Superstars with similarly impressive lineages, associating with Cody Rhodes, Manu and Sim Snuka. Over the past two weeks, however, he ejected both Manu and Snuka from the group, leaving only Rhodes and himself. As is well-known to the WWE Universe, Mr. McMahon is a multi-generational Superstar himself, the son of legendary promoter Vince McMahon Sr. The Raw roster would do well to watch out, because the Chairman has the credentials to join Orton’s group, and could make the already-dangerous association even more powerful.

Any of these could be the reason for Mr. McMahon’s return, but to find out his actual motivations, you’ll need to tune into Monday Night Raw at 9/8 CT only on USA Network.

Vince “NOT” Pleased with “The Wrestler”, New WWE Diva Debuted on RAW

-As stated earlier from here, that Vince Mcmahon had got an private screening from Darren Aronofsky’s, The Wrestler. Vince was not pleased with what he saw. Last night on Raw WWE diva Rosa Mendes once again in the crowd, the WWE Divas participated in a Race to the Rumble Diva Battle Royal to determine the #1 contender to face Beth Phoenix for the Women’s Championship Title at Royal Rumble. In the end Raw Diva Melina was victorious, with Beth quickly joining her in the ring for a stand off. Beth slapped Melina and rolled her out of the ring towards the commentary table where Melina picked up the advantage and started attacking Beth. To our surprise, Rosa jumped out of the crowd and ran to push Melina in order to help Beth, but only resulted in security dragging Rosa out of the arena.

Linda McMahon Reveals WWE’s “Hidden Secret”

Friday, December 12th, 2008

The Daily Citizen has got an article with what every WWE fans should, could or would like to know, if the WWE is REAL or NOT REAL. I think Linda McMahon just let the cat outta the bag:

McMahon, speaking at the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference in New York City, told an audience attending a press conference there that matches are scripted and winners of matches are pre-determined. Since News Corp. no-showed the conference, WWE replaced the company with a presentation of its own.

“Television stories, for those of you who don’t know, are scripted,” McMahon told the group of investors and media. To view the article go HeRe>>>>

Vince McMahon Upset on Styles/JBL Incident Leak, Morrison “Deployment: Shadow”

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

Vince McMahon is said to be furious that word got out about the incident between Joey Styles and JBL in Iraq last week reports Dave Meltzer. Vince had reportedly told the wrestlers that he didn’t want this getting back to other people once they returned from the trip as only a handful of people from various brands were on the tour.

“Deployment: Shadow”

John Morrison has updated his WWE Universe blog:

Fierce shadow rise in your infinite night.

Mr. Gone, where are your shadow armies?

“Lost” he says, “Lost, on the windswept hills,

those dead to the world stretches of sunrise jilted stone.

I can’t bring them back.

I sent them away,

and they were different then:

younger.”

Can’t you call them back on the sound of torn darkness?

Can’t you call them back on the wings of black doves?

Wouldn’t they listen?

Despite having changed?

Despite having grown old?

“No. They are not mine anymore,” he replies,

“they’re not mine anymore and I don’t want them anyway.

They’ve learned too much in their absence,

and would burn this all down,

every tower,

every city,

every shadow,

without thinking.

They’re not mine, and besides…

I have a new army:

Their souls are darker,

and they arrived yesterday.”

I wrote the bulk of this on several square napkins on one of my flights home from Iraq.
