At the contract signing for Support Your Troops 41, Dory Funk Jr. confronts Blain Rage, dressing him down for his “Insolent Behavior.” Blain Rage is un-characteristically calm until both men have signed the contract then Blain Rage’s real personality emerges?

Caught on !BANG! TV Video, Dory Funk Jr. and Jumbo Elvis are training with Wahoo McDaniel Jr. in preparation for his match with Shane Chung for the Funking Conservatory World Championship. Elvis shows a video of the practice session to Funking Conservatory World Champion Shane Chung. Shane Chung is angered at first but feels he is now one up on Wahoo McDaniel Jr.

!BANG! TV introduces, “Studio Sar-Ah,” a continuing segment on !BANG!. Sar-Ah’s first guest is Blain Rage. On set, Blain Rage asks Sar-Ah for a date. The latest of the Beautiful Ladies to come to the Funking Conservatory is the host of !BANG! TV’s “STUDIO SAR-AH.” Sar-Ah, She comes to the Funking Conservatory to challenge “The Claw” Claudia Reiff for the Women’s Championship Sunday June 14th. Sar-Ah is from the University of Arizona where she has finished three years studying Drama and Writing. She is participation in our Writing and Wrestling Program.

Many of the most beautiful ladies in professional have trained at the Funking Conservatory and many have appeared on !BANG! TV. In addition to Sar-Ah are Mickie James, Lita, our Champion Claudia Reiff, Gail Kim, Awesome Kong, The Wasilla Wrecking Crew, Charlotte Mahoy and Rachael Moore, Melissa Coates, and the multi talented Lexie Fyfe.

Wahoo McDaniel Jr. will challenge Shane Chung for the Funking Conservatory World Championship Sunday June 14th on !BANG! TV.

It will be University of Arizona vs University of Miami when Sar-Ah challenges The Claw, “Claudia Reiff for the Funking Conservatory Women’s Championship. Sar-Ah is a Senior at Arizona University and “The Claw” Claudia Reiff is a graduate in Physical Education from the University of Miami.

In a Special Attraction, Dory Funk Jr. will return to the ring to face Blain Rage.

Dory Funk says, Blain Rage has gone too far. He has defaced his Funking Conservatory Contract, tried to give away my cowboy hat and alligator skin cowboy boots, used profane language, scribbled his graffiti on the Funking Conservatory sign, and of all things, charged pornographic 900 calls to my cell phone.

In a special challenge, Damien Steel will face Johnny Romano in a “Dog Collar” Match. This is Hard-Core Damien Steel’s kind of match. Both men will be chained together with dog collars and a 15′ steel chain.

Funk’s Corner - John Tolos, Best Man at Silento Rodriquez’s Wedding

The preacher said, “I now pronounce you man and wife, you may kiss the bride.

Pastor Macready was standing in the ring at a packed house at the Amarillo Sports Arena. This was my first time to witness a marriage inside a professional ring.

The Proud Groom, Professional Wrestler, Silento Rodriquez turned and kissed his bride.

Silento’s Best Men, Ricky Romero, Sir Nelson Royal, Dandy Dan Miller and The Golden Greek, John Tolas lined up. They were next in line to kiss the bride. Ricky Romero, Nelson Royal and Dan Miller kissed the bride on the cheek and wished her a happy marriage to Silento. Next was John Tolos. The Golden Greek grabbed The Bride by the hair on both sides, pulling her into his body and laid a kiss on her she could never forget as Silento and other Best Men had to pull them apart.

Everyone reached to help Silento’s Bride maintain her equilibrium. Big John Tolos took a big bump in the middle of the ring then made his escape ad Silento was enraged that his Best Man would do such a thing to his bride.

Next week at the Amarillo Sports Arena a packed crowd returned to see Silento Rodriquez take on John Tolos.

John was a good friend of our family back in the late fifties and early sixties in Amarillo having been a frequent guest of our family at the Flying Mare Ranch in Umbarger, Texas.

He was a great heel.

My condolences to his family.

John’s humor and kindness will be missed.

Funk’s Corner - The Show Must Go On

Due to the Debacle caused by Kroenke Sports Enterprises WWE is moving Monday Night Raw and Smackdown to Los Angeles and the shows will go on.

I remember one Wednesday night in Lubbock, Texas at the Fair Park Coliseum there was an electrical storm and the electricity went out just as the matches were about to start. Nick Roberts and Dory Funk Sr. made the decision the show would go on and they opened the back garage doors at the Fair Park Arena and pulled four pickup trucks in the back and shined their headlights on the ring. The show went on.

On a Thursday night back in the early seventies I was booked to defend the NWA World Championship at a sold out Memorial Hall in Kansas City. The weather was bad and my flight over-flew Kansas City airport and went on to St. Louis where I called promoter, Bob Geigle. Geigel just said, “Get here and we will hold the crowd. I arrived at the building at 11:00pm for an 8:00pm show. As I entered the building the preliminary matches were over and the fans had listened to thirty minutes of country music. I hurriedly changed clothes and the show went on.

Again in the Kansas City Territory I was scheduled to wrestle in Waterloo Iowa. The local promoter had a dispute with the Kansas City Office and left town with the ring behind his pickup truck. 6,000 wrestling fans showed up and there was no ring in the building. From the back of the building they pulled out a bunch of used carpet and some old amateur wrestling mats and set up for the show to go on. With the announcer’s table in place, wrestlers could bounce off the table (No ropes) and still do their high spots.

I have traveled from Amarillo to St. Louis by train because of a blizzard in the Midwest and I have left my Lincoln Continental Mark III broken down on the side of the road and hitch-hiked to make my shot at the Ector County Coliseum in Odessa, Texas. The show goes on.

Thanks to the ingenuity of the WWE team and courtesies of the Los Angeles Lakers who I believe Vince McMahon will be cheering for, we can all enjoy current editions of Raw and Smackdown this week.

On Saturday afternoon, April 4th, I stood on stage facing 12,000 empty seats at the Toyota Center in Houston. I was rehearsing my induction speech for that night’s WrestleMania 25 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Midway through my Speech someone grabbed me from behind. I wondered who it was with such a strong grip on me?

At WrestleMania 25 I was with my family, in fact two families of Funk and some outstanding wrestlers from the Funking Conservatory. I mingled with celebrities who treated me as a celebrity. I even sparred with Kid Rock.

On this night, WWE President Linda McMahon talked to me about her appointment to the Connecticut Board of Education and her ideas on improving our education system.

On this night, I spoke with Vince McMahon, Linda McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, Triple H, Shane McMahon, Dusty Rhodes, Kid Rock, Mickey Rourke, Chris Jericho, Former students, Matt and Jeff Hardy, Mark Henry, Edge, Christian, Lord Steven Regal and Mickie James.

I spoke to my brother Terry Funk about how proud our late Mother (Dorothy Funk Culver) and Father (Dory Funk Sr.) would be.
