JR Comments on Last Night’s Extreme Rules PPV
Monday, June 8th, 2009Jim Ross has posted the following comments on his
href=”http://www.jrsbarbq.com/blog/post-extreme-rules-thoughts”>JRSBarBQ.com. Here are a few higlights:
-Seemed like, biased opinion, Smackdown had the 2 best bouts of the nite. The IC Title match and the Ladder match. Duh. Lots of sore, bruised men after the show. Trainers & Doctors seemed to be busy. My hats off to those that worked their asses off.
-Strap match was in a tough spot & strap matches are challenging to begin with. Both Punk & Umaga worked hard in a tough spot.
-Happy I wasn’t involved in the Hog Pen business. Whew. Once (Hershey, PA) is enough. It smelled like I was at a FFA function. That would be Future Farmers of America.
-I’m happy for Tommy Dreamer. Hard work & passion for his craft should pay off. Congrats Tommy! Submission bouts w/ a giant are big hills to climb.
-Cena-Show was about what I expected and I thought, for what it was, that each guy did great. I liked the length of the cage match & was happy that there was no outside interference. Another match that takes a physical toll on the participants. Better them than me.
-Rey vs Jericho was excellent. Two highly skilled, SD talents who help make Friday nights fun. I could watch these two men wrestle every night.
-Edge vs Jeff was the match of the night. The bar has been raised so high on these types of bouts that I don’t know what some hardcore fans expect but on a personal level, I loved this one. The risks these guys took were amazing and uncomfortable to witness so up close. The Punk cashing in on the Money in the Bank contract completely surprised me.

Tommy Dreamer’s Talks Losing or Winning ECW Title at Extreme Rules.
Saturday, June 6th, 2009Tommy Dreamer has posted the following on his WWE Universe:
Well my time is almost up. I have spoken to the head of WWE.com and he said I will be able to blog for about a month after June 7th if I do not win the ECW title. So that way I will be able to set up some form of communication with everyone.
I want to thank everyone for all their amazing support. I have talked the talk and now I have to walk the walk as Ric Flair has said a couple thousand times wooo.
I make this promise to everyone that on this Sunday you will either see my last match in ECW or you will see me win the ECW title. Every match has a special stipulation but for me it is all or nothing. Hopefully I will be writing back to all of you as a champion and not as a out of work wrestler.
Thanks for watching one of the biggest matches of my life. I hope you enjoy Extreme Rules ppv this Sunday
Thanks for reading
Tommy Dreamer
PREDICTION: Tommy Dreamer states in his first line that he spoke to WWE.com..aka JoEY Styles, if he loses at tomorrow’s pay per view Extreme Rules he can still post for about an month after June 7th.
This is hard to swallow because RVD post here on WWE Universe and he even doesn’t wrestle for WWE. so with that little note, I think Tommy Dreamer is going to WIN the ECW Title at Extreme Rules.
HELL I hope so, he DESERVES IT!!!

Saturday, June 6th, 2009ECW Legend Agrees with Bourne, Dreamer Winning ECW Title and MORE
Friday, June 5th, 2009Joey Styles has posted his recent comments on WWE Universe. . .
Speaking to the UK Sun, current ECW Superstar, Evan Bourne said the following,
“If you compare ECW now to the old ECW on TNN - we blow that show out of the water. Every week we blow it out of the water.”
As controversial as this may be, I agree with Evan. While I feel the Original ECW was superior to today’s ECW overall. ECW on TNN was an awful TV show and it showed the world that ECW was on it’s last legs by the year 2000.
However, the underground late night ECW TV that aired on various sports networks from 1993 through 1999 was groundbreaking and breathtaking. As far as I am concerned, The Original ECW had it’s much needed conclusion at ECW One Night Stand 2005 and I am eternally grateful to WWE for making that dream a reality.
Many of today’s WWE Superstars would have been a great fit for the Original ECW which was much more than the common misconception of being solely bloody weapons matches. In fact, future WWE World Champions, Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, Chris Jericho, Mick Foley, Steve Austin and Rob Van Dam all graced the ring at the ECW Arena with most of of them never shedding a drop of blood but instead putting on wrestling clinics.
Working with The Miz and Morrison, then dueling them together in the ring:
Working with and getting to know The Miz and John Morrison for over one year on The Dirt Sheet, I am thrilled that both of them are well on their way to becoming singles standouts. Eventually, Miz vs Morrison will be fun to watch.
MSG getting an $500 Million facelift:
Madison Square Garden is getting a desperately needed 500 million dollar renovation. As unpopular as this might sound, once you get over the great history of that arena, you can look at it objectively and see that it is an obsolete, overpriced experience for fans and performers. I look forward to working at the new MSG and taking Mrs. Styles and Joey Styles Jr. to MSG to see the circus.
Joey pinning the hopes of Tommy Dreamer winning the ECW title at Extreme Rules:
Win or lose, I will be first in line to greet Tommy Dreamer when he returns from the ring and his Do or Die matchup this Sunday for the hideous looking ECW Championship. ECW without Tommy Dreamer is like New York Yankees uniforms without pinstripes. Sure they would still be the Yankees, but they would be stripped of their legacy. Let’s hope ECW doesn’t lose it’s legacy this Sunday.

New Match Added to Extreme Rules 2009 “Fatal Four Way”
Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009WWE Changes Another Pay Per View Name, Three Way ECW Match at Extreme Rules 2009 PPV
Wednesday, May 27th, 2009-WWE has yet to change another pay per view. On September 13th pay per view Unforgiven apparently has been given an new name change. On the fornt of WWE.com to the right of the pay per views, Unforgiven still remanes the same name. But if you head on over to the Canadian scheduled part here you can clearly see that on September 13th the new name is going to be “Beaking Point”.
