Former Diva Candice, New WWE PPV Name Change AGAIN

Monday, July 13th, 2009

candice-otr1-Candice Michelle did a live chat over the weekend at StarCam.com which was her first interview since being released by WWE. John Laurinaitis told her she was being let go due to cutbacks although she had sensed her time was up. She didn’t rule out going to TNA but is currently focusing on her own line of lingerie and bikinis. She blamed her collarbone injury, which pretty much killed her in ring career, on WWE saying it happened because she was exhausted coming out off a two-week overseas tour. She put over Mickie James, Kelly Kelly and Michelle McCool but didn’t have kind words for Maryse and Maria.

An Edge Update, Stone Cold Update, JR thoughts on Cyber Sunday

Monday, October 27th, 2008

-Lance Storm
had lunch with Adam “Edge” Copeland on Friday, and said he expects him back on WWE television relatively soon. I assume that means Copeland was in Calgary at the end of last week since that is the location of Storm’s Wrestling School. Storm also stated on Wrestling Observer Radio Sunday night that Copeland is sporting a beard these days and with his hat looked like a “taller, skinner version of Evan Tanner.”

-JR has updated his blog and here are a few highlights:

Stone Cold looked great at 248 pounds and had to fly back to Vancouver right after the PPV to begin work Monday morning at 5 on the film of which he is starring. Steve filmed several fight scenes last week and broke one of his adversary’s nose in an especially physical scene. Steve hopes to wrap the film just before Thanksgiving. He is going to try and make an Oklahoma bowl game if schedules permit and my Sooners earn a bowl op. For more thoughts on Cyber Sunday from JR>>>>>

US Championship Match: Fans Picked “R-Truth”

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

WWE.com has posted the following:

PHOENIX – The Gold Standard remained just that at Cyber Sunday as United States Champion Shelton Benjamin retained his title against R-Truth, who was chosen to be in the Cyber Sunday Preview Match with 59 percent of the WWE Universe’s vote.

R-Truth has been craving for a chance to get in the ring for a one-on-one title match against the United States Champion. When he was picked via online voting by YOU over Montel Vontavious Porter and Festus to take on Benjamin in the Preview Match, live and exclusively on WWE.com, it was a golden opportunity for the young SmackDown star. Despite his impressive winning streak on Friday nights, Truth fell to Benjamin at WWE’s most interactive pay-per-view of the year.

The seemingly personal bout between the ultra-focused Gold Standard and his determined opponent was back-and-forth from the very beginning. With both men showing off their athleticism and agility, it was a missile dropkick from Truth that garnered him a near pinfall – followed by a kick-out by Benjamin. Truth continued with his momentum, but was countered by the United States Champion, who took him down hard with Pay Dirt and covered him for the three-count.

Despite R-Truth’s best efforts at his first WWE pay-per-view event, the United States Champion stood tall as the one showing his opponent, and the WWE Universe, “What’s up.” With another successful title defense under his belt, which SmackDown Superstar will step up next in attempts to de-throne the Gold Standard? Is the battle between the champ and R-Truth over, or will it continue to boil on Friday nights?

Kane VS Rey Mysterio ” Fans Picked “No Holds Barred”

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

WWE.com posted the following:

PHOENIX – As voted by the WWE Universe with 39 percent of the vote, Rey Mysterio battled against Kane in a No Holds Barred bout that seemed to help even what appeared to be insurmountable odds the Ultimate Underdog was facing, allowing him to pick up the win.

Only three weeks ago, the Master of the 619 went one-on-one against his nemesis Kane, with the stipulation being that if Mysterio lost, he would have to unmask. Despite the relentless punishment he endured, Rey was victorious by disqualification after Kane became so frustrated with his inability to put the Ultimate Underdog away, that he struck him with a steel chair.

At Cyber Sunday, the brutality the Big Red Monster imparted on Rey reached new heights, but Mysterio proved once again that his spirit was stronger than whatever Kane threw at him. In the end, Kane went to put Rey down for the count, but the Ultimate Underdog reversed it and hit the 619 allowing him to be the one standing victorious.

Ever since Mysterio’s surprising return, the Big Red Monster’s goal has been to rid WWE of the Ultimate Underdog. Even after all the punishment Kane has put him through in effort to destroy the spirit of the Master of the 619, Kane’s frustrations continue to grow as Mysterio gets up time and time again, win or lose, and keeps on fighting.

This may not have been the end of the road for the battle of good and evil that these two are enthralled in, but on this very night, it was the Ultimate Underdog, the essence of good throughout WWE, that towered over the menace Kane as the victor.

Honky Tonk Man “I’ll Be Ready for Cyber Sunday”

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

-Slam Wrestling has got an interview with with “the most likely” candidate for Santino opponent for tomorrow’s Cyber Sunday.

Honky Tonk has seen doctors for his finger injury:

“I saw emergency doctors and specialists up there before going back home to my doctors in Phoenix. So I haven’t wrestled since, and haven’t done anything but try to get it corrected back to whatever it’s going to end up as. Haven’t hardly used this (right) hand. It wasn’t the promoter’s fault or anything, I just shouldn’t have agreed to do that stunt.”

Now that Honky Tonk wrestled an 14-minute match that he got an win over L’Empereur, This was his first match he wrestled in four months, since his injury.

Now Honky Tonk tells WWE, I am good to go:

“I told (WWE) I finally could some physical stuff which they want, so tonight is a good dry-run for me. Initially when they asked I told them I couldn’t do anything physically, my hand was so messed up (see photo). But the last couple of weeks, I’ve been working on the mobility and I’ll be more than ready Sunday at the PPV.”

Smackdown Results 10-24-08 “Heading into Cyber Sunday”

Friday, October 24th, 2008

LAREDO, Texas – With Cyber Sunday looming, some of WWE’s biggest Superstars were all looking to make strong statements in front of the WWE Universe on SmackDown. The power is in your hands to decide their fate this Sunday. IN CASE YOU MISSED SMACKDOWN! HEAD ON OVER AND WATCH IT ON YOUTUBE>>>>

WWE Champion Triple H vs. Undertaker (No Contest)
In an iconic confrontation, WWE Champion Triple H and Undertaker pushed their bodies to the limit in a battle featuring multiple near pinfalls and counter maneuvers. But before a winner could be determined, Big Show burst into the arena, destroying The Game with a chokeslam and brutally assaulting The Phenom with a steel chair. After the carnage, Vladimir Kozlov viciously attacked the already-battered Triple H.

WATCH Triple H take shots at SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero; Jeff Hardy and Vladimir Kozlov state their case for Cyber Sunday; and The Game stun Hardy with a Pedigree.

Natalya & Maryse def. Divas Champion Michelle McCool & Maria
Just when it looked like Divas Champion Michelle McCool was going to pin Maryse, mariachi music filled the air and Maryse popped her shoulder up after a two-count. Next, Jesse, Festus and an entire mariachi band appeared at ringside, setting the scene for the love-struck Festus to present Maria with a flower. The affectionate distraction allowed Maryse to pin McCool. But, the action wasn’t over. When the bell rang, the budding Romeo transformed into the Corn-fed Colossus we all know and love and gave chase to the entire band.

WWE Tag Team Champions Carlito & Primo def. Chavo Guerrero & Bam Neely (Non-title)
The rocky friendship between Chavo Guerrero and Bam Neely cost them their match against the WWE Tag Team Champions. After Chavo saved Bam from a near pinfall, the partners engaged in a heated argument, ending with Chavo slapping Bam across the face. With Bam stunned, Carlito took him down with a Backstabber for the win.

R-Truth & Kung Fu Naki def. United States Champion Shelton Benjamin & Montel Vontavious Porter
The energetic Kung Fu Naki delivered a karate kick to MVP to earn his tag team the win. United States Champion Shelton Benjamin will be looking to recover from the loss at Cyber Sunday. Vote now for who Benjamin will defend his title against. Then, catch the Gold Standard in the Cyber Sunday Preview Match, streaming live and exclusively on WWE.com at 7:45 p.m. ET.

The Great Khali’s Kiss Cam
Ever since The Great Khali starting kissing women in the ring, letters have been pouring in to his camp. Associate Ranjin Singh read a few of them out loud before the “Punjabi Playboy” planted a kiss on the lips of a lucky member of the WWE Universe.

The Brian Kendrick def. Super Crazy
Similar to his experience last week on SmackDown, poor Super Crazy felt the power of Ezekiel Jackson. After The Brian Kendrick defeated Super Crazy with The Kendrick maneuver, his brutally powerful associate chokeslammed Super Crazy to the canvas using just one hand.

Shad has “Choice” Words for Miz /Morrison

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

-Hoping to hype the upcoming matches he would be in if the fans picked his match of Cryme Tyme vs The Miz and Morrison at Cyber Sunday. Shad of Cryme Tyme has issued this update on his Myspace. Shad has got some issues with The Miz and Morrison.

Thursday, October 23, 2008

Morrison and Miz

Ok, I don’t want to sound mad and I don’t want to sound angry. So im going to say this as nice as possible. FUCK John Morrison! FUCK THE MIZ! These 2 jackasses are the most egotistical, arrogant dumb fuck I have ever met. This has gone from fun and games to some gangster shit. I’m not some gimmick wwe put o paper. I’m a real thug and will fuck those 2 fags up in a heartbeat. Morrison is just mad that I took his girl back in the day when we were in OVW. And Miz you’re just a bitch. B…I…T..C..H. WHORAAA! BITCH!

JR “Family Condolences”, Bret Hart, Jeff Hardy, The Kings’ Costume and more

Thursday, October 23rd, 2008

JR has updated his blog. Here are a few highlights from the post.

JR sending condolences to The Johnson family on the passing of Lia Miavia:

Our family sends its condolences to the family of the late Lia Maivia who passed away a few days ago at the age of 81. Lia promoted pro wrestling on the island of Hawaii for years after the death of her husband, High Chief Peter Maivia. Lia was a engaging lady who had a wonderful spirit and, much like my late mom, was quite the character who was always fun to be around. Never a dull moment. I do know that she was so proud of her grandson Dwayne Johnson and deservedly so. I am really happy that I had the chance to meet Lia after hearing so much about her in th early part of my career. She will be missed by all that knew her and her legacy will be forever remembered in the annals of pro wrestling.

Bret Hart Update:

Yours truly received a cool email from Bret “The Hitman” Hart this week. It is always nice to hear from friends especially friends that are happy and doing well. Bret’s provocative autobiography has made its way onto the New York Times Best Seller list and it cannot come more highly recommended from me. There are only a few books that I have read that I honestly feel all wrestling and sports fans should read and this is one of them. I still think that Bret’s autobiography would make a entertaining film or dramatic series on a HBO-like network.

Jeff Hardy shared the same flight as JR. Saying no incidences occured report:

The enigma known as Jeff Hardy and yours truly were on the same flight coming out of Laredo to DFW to catch our connecting flights home Tuesday and I am happy to report that there were no “incidents” that would be considered internet worthy. That is unless snoring is considered controversial and that would have been me. I will admit it. I’m man enough to say I snored rather loudly or so I am told on the American Eagle flight. I should have hooked up my CPAP machine but it was in checked baggage. I apologize to all my fans….both of you.

JR says The King is very excited about the Divas Halloween contest and telling the fans what costumes he is going to be at this Sunday’s Cyber Sunday:

The King seems to be unusually excited regarding the Divas Halloween Costume Contest this Sunday. Word on the street has it that Jerry is going to dress up as either Hugh Hefner or Larry Flynt for the contest that only he should MC and/or judge. Of course, now in the PG world of the WWE no one will hear the Hall of Famer blurt out “puppies” even on PPV….I don’t think.

Honky Tonk will Show for Cyber Sunday, Cryme Tyme: How They Began and MUCH MORE…

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008

-The Figure Four Weekly Newsletter is now reporting that The Honky Tonk Man has told friends he still plans to show up at WWE’s Cyber Sunday PPV this weekend in Phoenix, AZ. It was reported earlier that it was un-sure if Honky Tonk Man was going to show up or not, but WWE will work with it.

-HipHopDx.com has got an recent interview with Cryme Tyme. Here are a few highlights:

When do you decide to pursue a career in pro-wrestling?
JTG: I always wanted to be a wrestler but I didn’t know how to go about it. Growing up in Brooklyn, everyone was like, “I wanna be a basketball player” or “I wanna be a football player,” so I just used to tell people I wanted to be an actor. I do love acting, but I knew what I really wanted to do.
Shad: My father started training me for boxing around five, I started martial arts when I was eight and amateur wrestling when I was about 10. As time went on, it seemed like a natural thing for me to do. I was working as a bodyguard, [MTV/WWE reality show] Tough Enough came along. I made the show but was eliminated after the qualifying round because there was a mix-up with my blood work and they thought I had Hepatitis C when it was actually a different contestant on the show. Later on, I was contacted by [WWE official] Dr. Tom Pritchard and recruited.

Did you play other sports in school?
Shad: In my family, we’re all fighters and we’re all intellects. We come from the West Indies, my father was a boxer and everyone on my mom’s side of the family boxed and kick-boxed as well. When we used to do it, it was called Noble’s Bar Fights and Mixed Martial Arts.”When it came to America, it was no holds barred and people thought it was like a human cockfight. There were no weight classes, no gloves. More on the interview with Cryme Tyme>>>>>>>>>>>

Raw Results 10-20-08 “Raw into Cyber Sunday”

Monday, October 20th, 2008

-Kelly Kelly & Candice Michelle def. Jillian & Katie Lea Burchill
Jillian attempted to open Raw in a rather painful manner, with her excruciating rendition of Willie Nelson’s “Mama, Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys.” Luckily, Jillian & Katie Lea Burchill’s opponents for the night, Kelly Kelly & Candice Michelle, were standing by to rescue the WWE Universe from the tone-deaf songstress’ screeching. Kelly interrupted Jillian’s solo, and even went on to pin the Diva for the win.

-Raw GM Mike Adamle announced a Gauntlet Match between World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho and Batista; Jericho attacked The Animal
World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho came to the Raw ring with his characteristic cockiness and demanded that the WWE Universe give him the respect he believes he deserves for winning the first-ever World Heavyweight Championship Scramble as well as his recent defenses of his title. He was interrupted by his Cyber Sunday opponent, Batista, declaring that Jericho has to earn respect. Before their confrontation could escalate, however, Raw General Manager Mike Adamle emerged with an opportunity for both men to gain respect: Another Adamle Original, a Gauntlet Match in which each ring warrior will face the same three opponents of the GM’s choosing. After receiving the brief explanation, the World Heavyweight Champion slapped Batista before retreating to the locker room area.

-JBL def. “Stone Cold” Steve Haas-tin
Continuing his string of Superstar impersonations in the Texas Rattlesnake’s home state, Charlie Haas interrupted JBL’s pompous rantings dressed as “Stone Cold” Steve Austin himself. Haas-tin paid homage to Stone Cold’s legendary mic skills and promptly began his slobberknocker of a match against the self-made millionaire. JBL was able to turn things around, however, defeating the disguised Haas.

-Rey Mysterio def. Snitsky
Though he will be facing Kane at Cyber Sunday in a match type of the WWE Universe’s choosing, Rey Mysterio faced another monstrous Superstar, Snitsky. In spite of some vicious pre-match threats from the yellow-toothed ogre, Mysterio proved why he is the Biggest Little Man in WWE, cutting Snitsky down to size.

-The Miz & John Morrison def. CM Punk & Kofi Kingston
Both CM Punk & Kofi Kingston and ECW’s The Miz & John Morrison had a chance on Raw to show the WWE Universe why they should be the ones to compete in the Pick the Tag Team Match at Cyber Sunday. It was the self-proclaimed “chick magnet” and the Shaman of Sexy that proved themselves, however as The Miz managed to pin former World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk.

-Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella and Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix attacked “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan
Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella came out to the ring accompanied as usual by Women’s Champion Beth Phoenix, but the Italian Superstar was oddly attired in a mix of clothing representative of the three former Intercontinental Champions he could potentially face at Cyber Sunday: “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Goldust and Honky Tonk Man. After degrading the three ring legends, Marella was interrupted by the fan-favorite entrance of “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan, incensed by the Intercontinental Champion’s lack of respect. After Duggan suggested that the Italian Superstar wouldn’t have his title if not for his girlfriend, Beth Phoenix, Marella clobbered him in the head with the guitar he brought to the ring in imitation of Honky Tonk Man.

-Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase & Manu assaulted Cryme Tyme
Though World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase and Cryme Tyme both have a chance to compete in the Pick the Tag Team Match at Cyber Sunday, they were set to battle one another on Raw. Before the match could even begin, however, the champions, along with fellow second-generation Superstar Manu, assaulted their opponents. They proceeded to brutalize Shad & JTG, after which Manu raised Rhodes & DiBiase’s hands in a show of their ruthless strength and ability.

-Batista outlasted Chris Jericho in a Gauntlet Match
For the first time ever, World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho and Batista were forced to take turns competing against the same three impressive athletes in a Gauntlet Match as the other ring warrior stood in the opposite corner. The Animal was the first one up, defeating the Brawling Brit, William Regal. Not letting the No. 1 contender show him up, Jericho defeated a weakened Regal, and competed first in the next round.

The next challenger was a decidedly larger one: former ECW Champion Mark Henry. Chris Jericho hit the World’s Strongest Man with his title, losing the match by disqualification. While Henry recovered from the blow, Batista took advantage, pinning the behemoth. The third and final hurdle in the Gauntlet Match was none other than the Big Red Monster, Kane. After an impressive performance, Jericho was overpowered by the Big Red Monster. But Batista quickly stepped in, defeating the 7-footer, and boasting to the battered World Heavyweight Champion, just days before their match at Cyber Sunday, where the WWE Universe will decide who will officiate the contest.
