RAW IS JERICHO ONCE MORE
Tuesday, November 20th, 2007RAW LIVE from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The show starts with a kid running carrying a torch. Ummm – okay. HBK comes down to the ring and calls out Orton. Orton responds on the Titontron – his face is sincerely battered up and he’s got a nice bruise from the Superkick that Michaels gave him at Survivor Series. Orton says that there was no way he was coming down to the ring, and Michaels admits that he was going to Superkick Orton again.
Orton explains that now it’s his time to be the champion, and that he won’t give HBK a rematch. He says that the torch runner signals the “changing of the guards? and that the torch runner will show up at the end of the show for the “passing of the torch? ceremony.
Mr. Kennedy comes to the ring and attacks Michaels, saying that HBK had his shot and that now it’s Kennedy’s turn to shine. Regal comes running down and starts the match.
Match #1: Shawn Michaels VS Mr. Kennnedy
The two are fighting everywhere but in the ring – up the ramp, on the announcers table, and the bell has not yet rung! Kennedy grabbed a chair outside the ring – Michaels, however, superkicks Kennedy through the chair, knocking him to the floor.
Winner: No winner – but HBK’s music plays
Match #2: Santino Marella VS Jerry “The King? Lawler
Looks like Santino’s got him for a bit, but jerry backslides for the 1-2-3.
Winner: Jerry Lawler
Randy Orton comes down to the ring and RKO’s Lawler.
Carlito goes into a meeting that Vince McMahon is having and says that he likes the “tough love? angle that Vince gave his illigetimate son, Hornswaggle, at Survivor Series. Vince then decides to put Carlito up against Hornswaggle, making Carlito very happy.
Match #3: Jeff Hardy VS Umaga
Umaga applying the claw on Hardy’s right deltoid muscle for most of the match, slowing the Hardy boy down. Hardy starts to get the upperhand on Umaga, until Snitsky comes out and attacks Hardy and the ref calls for the bell.
WINNER: Jeff Hardy
Triple H makes his appearance in the ring when he comes to the aid of Jeff, clearning out the ring. With Jeff and HHH in the ring, the level of talent in the ring has risen.
Match #4: Hardcore Holly VS Cody Rhodes
Another match of respect. Cody nails Holly with a DDT.
WINNER: Cody Rhodes
Once more Orton makes his in-ring appearance when he comes down and RKO’s Rhodes. He says that the marathon runner is ready to pass the torch to Orton.
Note: Ric Flair returns to Raw next Monday night.
Match #5: Jillian Hall & Melina VS Maria & Mickie James
Jillian buries Mickie’s face in her breasts and Mickie grabs Jillian by the hair, bends her backwards, and kisses her right before she applies a roundhouse kick for the pin.
WINNER: Maria & Mickie James
Match #6: Hornswaggle VS Carlito
No Disqualification Match
Hornwaggle climbs under the ring and Carlito sneaks to the other side to catch him. Meanwhile Hornswaggle climbs back into the ring with a bucket of water and nails Carlito with it before jumping on him. Carlito throws him into the ring and grabs an apple to spit at Hornswaggle, but Finlay arrives and clotheslines him, putting Hornswaggle on Carlito for the pin.
WINNER: Hornswaggle
Orton gets into the red-carpeted ring for the passing of the torch ceremony. He says that he’s annihaliated every super star and has beaten everyone that there is to beat. The marathon runner is seen running into the arena before he gets clotheslined.
Jericho has returned to RAW!
The computer program runs again and they switch the .x29 with y2j and Jericho comes into the building to his music. He does his bit – “Welcome to Raw…is….JERICHO? and gets the crowd really riled up. He tells Randy Orton that he’s returned to Raw to save everyone from Orton.
So what did you think of the night? The only time I saw the crowd really get into things was when Jericho made his appearance – but that doesn’t really surprise me because there were dozens of Jericho signs in the building.
