More Warrior News….

Monday, May 5th, 2008

Yes, it’s true. On April 19th, 2008, I will be In Madrid, Spain. New Wrestling Evolution (NWE) has invited me to appear as a Special Guest and receive an award to recognize my career in the Sports Entertainment industry.

A couple of years ago, NWE representatives contacted me to discuss the dreams and visions they held for their new, upstart wrestling organization at the time. Graciously, even then they expressed their desire to one day bring me over just so the many Ultimate Warrior fans over there could have the once-in-a lifetime opportunity to meet in person one of the industry’s most admired heroes.

I was humbled when they mentioned this was a dream they had. I am even more humbled now that they have returned and actually asked, and I am inspired that they are fulfilling their dream to build a Sports Entertainment enterprise that is serious and determined — and unique. That the event is already sold out and they are not using my appearance to sell tickets speaks volumes to the success they are creating.

I like the ideas they have in mind, especially the one they have to build a Sports Entertainment product more oriented for family, more positive for children.

This is a wonderful opportunity and I am excited, happy, and honored to accept the invitation.

Ultimate Warrior’s News

Monday, May 5th, 2008

Over the past month it has been apparent but not much to our surprise that the outpour from fans regarding the return on June 25th has become completely overwhelming. We are receiving literally thousands of emails per day not to mention the amount of phone calls from companies, radio and TV who would like to book an opportunity with Warrior. In four days we have received over 50,000 unique views on MySpace.com including over 3,000 registered “friends.”

In response to this we will be launching this week, a sister-site to UltimateWarrior.com which will be FOR THE FANS. Warrior will be providing a video explaining several rumors and statements being made that need to be either confirmed or denied. He will also answer some of the most unique off-the-wall questions that we have received.

Furthermore, Warrior will provide explosive details in this video to the entire world regarding what is about to happen. However, Warrior will provide proper warning for all who may need to schedule a check-up with their doctor prior so they are prepared to accept what he is about to deliver. If you have high blood pressure we strongly recommend now that you do not view this highly anticipated video as it could be detrimental to your immediate health.

This was not something that Warrior had planned, it was not something that even he was prepared for, it was not something that he needs to do, it is something that is no longer up for debate; IT IS SOMETHING THAT MUST BE DONE.

Sit tight, fasten your seat belts and hold on. Be anxious, but not impatient…….”For Only Desperate Men Act With Impatience”

Joey Styles Moved up , Mike Adamle Replaces

Wednesday, April 16th, 2008

joey-styles-wwe.jpg

As reported yeasterday Joey Styles has been moved up into the company of the WWE. Why Styles have been moved was beacause of the high paid man, Mike Adamle. WWE thought, yes Vince McMahon, that Adamle wasn’t be used for the price that Vince has payed for Adamle. Adamle being paid $300,000 a year is not something to not over look.

WWE.com will still be over seen by Brian Kalinowski, but Syles will be taking over managering editorial for the website, since WWE has gone down to Indutires news on helping to regrow the popularity back on WWE.com. Styles was co-owner of ECW original website, ECWWrestling.com. If you click on it guess where it takes you, yeah you got it. Styles has got great internet skills that WWE’s in desperate of needing to help boost comapany publicity.

Styles will still be traveling with ECW/Smackdown TV’s tapings and now as well as Raw on Monday nights. Joey Styles will be officed in home town of the WWE, Stamford, Connecticut.

Physicians tell Torrie ” No More Wrestling”

Friday, April 11th, 2008

torriemyspace.jpg

Torrie Wilson has updated her Myspace page. Torrie Wilson has got 2 professional physicians telling her not to wrestle any more is she wants to move on later in her life time. Torrie please do what you need to do and don’t wrestle for hte sake of your health. Life is way too short…P.L.E.A.S.E…

Hey Buddies!

Well, the trip to Orlando was great! I brought one of my best friends, Jill, with me as well as 2 of my brothers and I must say we really rocked Orlando! It took me over a week to recover, but it was all worth it!

My health is doing ok as far as back problems. I must say there are days that I wake up and ask myself why the heck I put my body through what I did the last few years but it’s all worthe it. I can never trade all of the awesome experiences that I have had in the WWE and of course all of the great life long friends that I have made along the way. I have been told by 2 back surgeons that I should never set foot in a wrestling ring again if I want to be moving around in a few years on my own. Pretty depressing if you ask me….I don’t even have some awesome memory of what my last match even was or who it was with. Hopefully it was with Victoria and I beat her! (-: I guess everything happens for a reason for sure. Regardless of not traveling with WWE as of late, I have actually been ridiculously busy lately working on more designs for my up and coming clothing line. I must say that I am soooo excited to wear some of the cool stuff that we are coming up with and I hope you are too! Only time will tell….

I had an awesome night out with my WWE friends in Orlando and also got to hit the mall with my best shopping partner ever, Michell McCool! That girl can SHOP! ..never ever thought that I could meet my match but I have and more. (-: I was pretty disappointed that I couldn’t have had some sort of role in Wrestlemania itself, but understand that priorities are not with someone that isn’t feeling their best ….maybe it’s better that I wasn’t a part of it who knows! It was pretty weird watching it as a fan though…I even had the experience of filing into the citrus bowl with everybody else and it was CRAZY!!!!!

I am heading over to Japan on the 17th of this month to host a wrestlemania viewing party with the fans and I am soooo excited! I love love love Japan and of course the show was so good that I can’t wait to watch it again.

I must say that I am absolutely going so stir crazy being home after traveling nearly 300 days per year for the last 7 years, but I am guessing that God is telling me to take a break. I hope that all of you take time for yourself sometimes because I am just feeling like time passes by wayyyy too quick! It’s actually good that I have had some time to rebuild some relationships that have been broken from all of the travel that I have done over the years.

Well, I hope that you are all doing awesome and would love to hear what you thought of the big wrestlemania show if you watched!

Talk to you soon and love you lots n lots!

DDP’s Thoughts on WrestleMania

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

DDP has got a few thoughts up about how he feels WrestleMania went on his blog on MySpace…read on…

Hey Guys

I know you all want to hear about my trip to Iraq, which was a great adventure. But it is going to take me a few weeks to write all of that up.

In the meantime I have been flooded with questions on www.myspace.com/yrgworkout ,www.diamonddallaspage.com and even www.yrgworkout.com asking me about Ric Flair’s retirement and Wrestlemania. Let me address the Nature Boy first…many of you know by the comments of what Ric Flair thought about DDP in his book (I don’t remember the name) and my response on youtube (you will have to search for it to find it), that Ric and Page’s relationship was never one of real friendship. Ric was always a class act and cool in my face but behind my back he never believed I had what it took to be a top guy. Early on in my career Ric ran the show at WCW and I was one level up from a job guy (a guy who loses all the time). To Ric’s credit why would he believe in a guy who started at 35, tore his rotator cuff at 36 and got fired…and came back at 37 would ever be a top guy… It had never happened before… Looking back I guess I understand why he thought I would never be anything in this business.

That being said, The Nature Boy Ric Flair , the leader of the 4 horseman, the limousine riding, lear jet flying, 60 minute man… is something I grew up watching and admiring in my early 20’s…who didn’t want to be the Nature Boy…Whooo! With what I achieved in the wrestling business and working with Ric from 1997 on I thought I had overcame all the hurdles of getting Ric’s respect. That is until someone told me what he wrote about me, Diamond Dallas Page , in his book…If I am not mistaken he also buried Mick Foley and Brett Hart so I guess I am in pretty good company. All that being said, I have pretty much always been able to separate Ric from the Nature Boy Ric Flair the TV character. To me the Nature Boy Ric Flair has always been the best of the best, he transcends the words Legend and Icon…just like Dusty Rhodes said the Nature Boy Ric Flair is a National Treasure. I thought he had a spectacular match with HBK at Wrestlemania. I also thought this was one of the best WM’s in a long time. That a guy could wrestle for 36 years and deliver that match at 59 years old is nothing less than spectacular.

In the 1980’s The Nature Boy helped change the face of professional wrestling. His charismatic passion and warmth ran through the crowd like a running stream of hot water. The Nature Boy loves and lived to wrestle!

HBK’s sendoff “I’m sorry, I love you” before he knocked him out was straight from the heart. It reminded me of the time I watched Larry Holmes send “The Greatest” Muhammad Ali off into the pasture. Shawn didn’t want to put Flair out but like Larry he knew he had to and if any one was one to do it … it should be him.

Do I honestly think you will never see Ric Flair in the ring again? Stop it! Ha! Nature Boy and Vince left everybody wanting more… I’ll believe the Nature Boy career is really over the day the Rolling Stones stop touring…

I thought that this was one of the best WrestleMania’s in long time. I was wondering how Big Show was going to make a match with a 5’7″ 147 pound guy watchable…but he didn’t just make it watchable, I really enjoyed it. And if you haven’t watched it then find it or buy the replay…having done celebrities matches with Karl Malone, Dennis Rodman and Jay Leno I know what goes into these matches and it is a lot of work…Mayweather is a great showman and athlete but just because you have been watching wrestling since you were a little kid doesn’t mean you can get in the ring and do it. Big Show took care of him and the kid took some stiff bumps. I guarantee you his entire body was never that sore after a boxing match. Today Mayweather fights maybe twice a year…Big Show is on the road wrestling for more than 250 days…even Ken Shamrock said he got hurt more in wrestling ring than he ever did in the UFC.

I pretty much raised the Big Show in his early days in the wrestling business. I actually helped him get ready for his first match ever with Hogan and traveled with him his first 5 years….to say I am proud of him would be an understatement. The thing that I love most about this match is that the people were really behind Big Show, like they were behind Andre back in the day…if Show is handled properly he may finally be able to fill the Giants boots…he sure as hell has the talent and charisma to do it.

The Triple threat match for the WWE championship was tremendous as well. Great psychology and near falls. Like most of you I thought there was no way they would keep the title on Orton even though that is what I wanted to see. Watching that match unfold I could tell that, as always, HHH was the ring General. The match and finish was phenomenal. Even though Randy didn’t win with the RKO/Diamond Cutter…

It brought me back to June of 2002 when I called Randy Orton and told him I was going to retire and I told him I wanted him to take my Diamond Cutter finish…he was so respectful he said “No Diamond, that is yours, you came up with that” and I said “Randy, I don’t want some Jabroni ripping it off…I want you to keep it going and take it to another level”…and he has. I believe someday Randy will become the biggest baby face in the company.

But my favorite match was for the World Title with Edge and the Undertaker. Going in, there was no way I thought Taker would take a loss at WM being 15-0. But the story they told was so good that the last 5 minutes of that match they both had me actually believing at times that this was going to be the end of the winning streak with one tremendous false finish after another. For Taker being 6’9″, 280+ pounds and 43 years old he brought it the same way he did when he was 33 and I know how beat up his body is…damn he must have been sore the next day. A great wrestling match is all about creating the element of doubt. As a fan, you are so sure that this guy is going to win or lose and then BANG!…we flip it on you. I thought Edge losing to Taker moved him even further up the ladder. Reminded me of the time that Stone Cold lost to Brett Hart…which literally made Austin a made man. In other words, I really enjoyed WM. So those are my thoughts… in the next week or so I’ll send out the email on my journey back to Iraq.

WrestleMania 24 Rocks the Music Sales

WWE®’s WrestleMania® Rocks Sales
April 9, 2008
STAMFORD, Conn., April 9, 2008—World Wrestling

Press Release on WWE.com:
Entertainment’s® WrestleMania XXIV pay-per-view used music to rock the Florida Citrus Bowl, and at the same time helped rock the charts for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, John Legend, Fuel and Rev Theory.

WWE Superstars making their colorful entrances on television and pay-per-view queued by audience-energizing theme songs can provide big dividends for musical performers.

Fuel’s “Leave the Memories Alone? was the theme song for wrestling legend Ric Flair® at WrestleMania XXIV and the following night’s Monday Night RAW® on USA Network. The exposure led to the song experiencing a skyrocketing 999% increase last week, and a 409% increase this week, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Fuel is thrilled with reaction to the song. “I think it’s fantastic. It shows how genuinely passionate WWE fans are about their wrestling and their music. When you write a piece of music that was very passionate to you, it’s nice to see people respond in the same manner, and that’s what’s happening here,? said Carl Bell, guitarist.

After serving as one of WrestleMania XXIV’s theme songs, the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ single “Snow (Hey Oh)?, and album “Stadium Arcadium? saw an increase in sales. John Legend’s album “Live From Philadelphia? also saw a sales increase following his live performance of “America the Beautiful? at WrestleMania.

Rev Theory’s “Light It Up? also served as a theme song for this year’s WrestleMania event and had their sales increase 999% as well. Rev Theory performed during the final leg of WWE’s Fan Axxess Tour in Orlando in front of 20,000 people. They were so impressed with its reception, the band invited WWE Diva and fan Ashley Massaro™ to Los Angeles last week to star in their new video, “Hell Yeah?.

“This is yet another great example of the many levels of exposure WWE generates for performers. The music partnerships that we have are ever increasing and our commitment to create global awareness for music acts today is as relevant as ever; especially with the state of the music business,? Neil Lawi, General Manager WWE Music Group. “Bands that record theme songs for WWE promotional use are establishing themselves as pop culture icons by gaining coveted exposure to millions of fans worldwide while continuing to rock the sales charts.?

ECW Wrestler Mike Knox in BIG Trouble

Monday, April 7th, 2008

Knox.jpgECW Wrestler Mike Knox may have jeopardized his career. WSB-TV admitted that Mike Knox, whose real name is Michael Hetting, is the wrestler who is being questioned by authorities. The story started when a man who purchased Hetting’s home came forward to the authorities with two boxes full of items that his daughter found up in the “playroom”. There were syringes, pill bottles, and paperwork that was a memorandum to WWE superstars in 2004 about the dress code, as well as his signed WWE contract.

It looks like the WWE was going to give him a big push forward. Now he’ll be lucky if he still has a contract…

USA “Characters” Come Out to Play

Monday, April 7th, 2008

Looks like USA has been celebrating all of their characters - probably trying to get interest hyped up for new seasons. It also looks like they’ve chosen Maria to be their WWE “Character”…gee, wonder why! Maria appeared at both the Chicago reception and the LA reception. She was joined by a post-surgery Candice Michelle in LA. The ladies over at Go Fug Yourself were picking on Maria’s LA outfit (hinting that it was a throwback to the 80’s). What they don’t seem to understand is that Maria is HOT no matter what she wears, and especially when she’s wearing nothing at all!

Where Is Jesse?

Sunday, April 6th, 2008

ventura-book.jpg

Promoting his new book! Former WWE Superstar and Governor Jesse “The Body” Ventura was seen by TMZ photogs the other evening on tour to promote his new book. Jesse’s book, “Don’t Start the Revolution Without Me” was released April 1 and is classic Ventura. It is filled with conspiracy theories and “unspoken” topics. For instance, Jesse speaks about being warned not to talk about the Kennedy assassination.

…and claims that during a trip to Dallas as governor a police officer warned him to avoid talking too much about “things that certain people don’t want brought to light.

If I get my hands on a copy, I’ll do a full review, as it looks like it may be extremely interesting. You can read more about the book here, and can see the Jesse give it back ot the TMZ photographers here.

According to Amazon.com, Ventura’s book was released on April 1,2008.
