Beck Bashes Benoit
Glenn Beck, Headline New’s outspoken commentator, just bashed Chris Benoit.
Beck released the details about the murder/suicide, stating that authorities are saying that it is believed Chris used a move similar to the Crippler Crossface to strangle his wife. It is believed that, while she was tied to the chair, he put his knee into her back and strangled her from behind, which is extremely simlar to his signature submission hold.
Beck also stated that Benoit’s wife was dead, tied to her chair, for around a day and a half before he killed Daniel. Daniel had posters of his father littering his room. There is also speculation going around that Daniel had some sort of dwarfism, which is why Benoit and his wife were giving their son growth hormone. It is also being bandied around that Benoit was extremely upset that his son was short for his age.
Interestingly, Beck compared Benoit to the killer of the Virginia Tech slayings. He explained that people didn’t feel pity for that murderer, when Chris Benoit did the same thing, only on a smaller scale.
Most of the wrestling fans that I have been talking to are having a very hard time with this. A man that they idolized and adored committed one of the most heneous atrocities that can ever be done. Do you hate him, or separate the wrestler from the person? Is that even possible?
